Tomo has been our favorite sushi restaurant for seven or eight years now. I never touched sushi until I ate here. They developed my love of sushi and I have been a loyal customer ever since. Today when visiting the restaurant, I really should be giving a one star review if not zero stars but couldn’t bring myself to do it. Something has definitely changed within the restaurant. Ownership would be my guess but definitely the staff as well. There was one waiter during dinner time, and one hostess during dinner time and two guys doing rolls from what I could see. Half of the restaurant was closed off, to be expected in our current environment. However, I have visited the restaurant many times during Covid and have never seen this so it was immediately thought to be odd. I always order only rolls and I ordered my two favorite ones. I ate three of each one and stopped. There was something definitely off about them. My husband had his normal as well which is a cooked Bento box and he ate 2 to 3 bites of the entire thing. The flavor was off, the food was partially cold and it was just all-around bad. We were in the restaurant for nearly 2 hours and most of that time was spent waiting on drinks, orders, and food. What is sad is we waited longest for the check. There were only six other tables in the entire restaurant and we were all grouped in the same area. One large table of six even walked out after they waited 20 minutes and did not receive even their drinks. Yes there was one waiter, so we gave him some grace. He was of course polite and the issues were likely not caused by him or any fault of his or anything that he could control. However, something has desperately gone wrong in our favorite...

However, why charge an extra dollar for a kids cup? Our cups of water were free, so why charge the kids for a cup? I’ve never been to a resturant where they charge little kids for water. Or just give the kid a regular cup, is that so hard? Like I said earlier, our waiter was nice, but she kept forgetting our order. Also, I understand there’s a gratuity fee for 6 or more guest, but we had 2 adults and 4 kids. One kid is autistic and the other is only 2 years old who didn’t eat or touch any of the food. We always tip above and beyond for good service, and today wasn’t really that great. But that’s just how things are I guess. I used to love going here, but not so sure anymore. Also when I was here three months ago, they gave me Tomo cash since I paid the bill with cash. Paid with cash today and I guess they don’t do that anymore either.
3 months ago (originally 4 stars) - Haven’t been here for a while and decided to stop by for dinner with my nephews tonight. The food was so delicious and our waitress was amazing! We ordered the Andy Roll as well as the Avocado Roll and they were super tasty! The house salad was good too. Our miso soup was a little on the warmer side when it came out, but nonetheless still good. Great...
Read moreThis place is amazing for a romantic date or family night. We had a 20% off coupon that we got for coming to Tomo Sushi on our anniversary (which was an amazing experience by the way) Kenny was our waitress who was from Indonesia and her Manager Melissa as well traded great banter with us about cultural differences. It was so interesting!
Today I brought my whole family in, recognized Kenny and she waved me over. She told me the last time we were here my husband forgot his credit card. They kept it safe for us! And they remembered us almost a month later! That's going above and beyond. How awesome!!!
Kenny asked us if we wanted to try some sake with our sushi and we agreed. She brought out something fancy that looked like a potion! Lavender sake? Never heard of it, before but it was HEAVENLY!
The sushi appearance was so well arranged, you felt guilty because you were eating art (see the attached photos). I'm not exaggerating! Last but not least my kids ate fried icecream (they never had it before) and Japanese soda. They were mesmerized by the little marbles inside the bottle!
When we were ready to pay, she reminded us to include our coupon. I mean WHO does that!??? I thanked her and whipped it out. I was amazed the last time, and left with a big smile on my face this time.
Really guys. Well done!!! We will be back again and...
