SERVICE: Excellent STAFF: Cheerful, Attentive, Kind BEER: Very tasty; only a about 6-7 handles but still a good variety ATMOSPHERE: Rad, like being at your favorite old auntie's house PATRONS: All types, everyone friendly and relaxed Visiting from San Diego (where we know a thing about breweries) and I found this little gem of a joint on Google. Checked it out because; 1) its got dragons and 2) its got beer. Just starting to get the after work crowd and was not only greeted by the beertender, he came out from around the bar, walked up to us and took our order. Later staff dropped by the table to check on us and we ordered right from the table while we enjoyed the Italian Food Truck fair of Thyme to Dine food-wagon. SUPER RELAXED in there, smallish with a Knights/Dragons/Storybook/Alice in Wonderland Theme - its' super fun to take in visually. Has a big outdoor patio with lots of seating and a few picnic tables near the kettles for that "I'm in a real brewery" feel. The Best Part: We paid up, bought some beer to go and in my tradition when enjoying out-of-state beers, I left a beer koozie from my local SD Brewery in the little tray with the pen and the signed ticket. We went to the truck and put 'er in drive... then Daniel the Beertender came running out waving the koozie, thinking I left it on accident. I told him it was for him, from my SD brewery. He smiled, said thanks and went back in. Okay take two, put 'er in drive and again... here comes Daniel waving a koozie in the air... a sweet blue plaid Storybook Brewing koozie. He just said "I'll trade you". I smiled and drove off. Totally Awesome.

Excellent local brewery with a strong community vibe and many delicious brews to choose from. Excellent for social drinking and small group events. Housed within a commercial district of the beaten track, there's a vaguely industrial but still homey and cozy vibe to the venue. I felt very welcome, but also got the impressions there's a strong local following of regulars. Very explicitly dog friendly; opens onto a park at the back. Outdoor and indoor seating options available, but beware seating can be scarce at peak times-- this venue is an obvious favorite drinking hole for many a local! Storybrook subscribes to the catering model of many local breweries, whereby a rotating food truck selection is available at the back of the venue. During my visit it was "Bite Me" hot dogs- the dog was delicious, and their wings were absolutely exceptional. Bathroom available to customers, and ample parking to be found out the front. If that's full check around the back. Though I can't confirm personally, it looked like more parking was available around the back of the venue. I tried the "Angel Feather" brown ale which was absolutely delicious! Though due to a rotating menu it may not be available much longer. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, so advise your usual favorites and they'll help you select something you'll love. Excellent choice for a drink or six, whether you're alone, with a crew or just walking the dog.

Okay. So, this review is almost 2 months late, but I am GOING to make it today. This place? This place did an out-of-towner right. I drove into Colorado Springs on April 27th from Wichita, staying until the 29th. On the 28th I spent time looking for places to buy crowlers for home. I read about this place and decided to stop here—it was a very, very good decision. First of all, LOOK AT THIS PLACE. IS IT NOT ABSOLUTELY AWESOME LOOKING. YEAH IT IS. Secondly, the beer is top notch. I got the Alternate Awareness Belgian Dubbel and the Java Dragon on Nitro: loved them both, but the former carved out a special place in my heart with its lovely, wine-y taste. The hospitality, not to be forgotten, was incredible. On top of the crowlers I bought, they sent me home with a complementary pilsner glass and nice, big stickers! Extremely thoughtful owners and employees. Makes me wish I lived closer by. Of the many incredible experiences in town, this was one of my favorites. I aim to return next time I'm around town.
