So today after church my husband and I wanted to go somewhere for lunch. We googled Thai Smile Kitchen and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. First let me say that the bad economy is obviously affecting the prices of everything everywhere as well as inflation shrinking the amount or size you get for your buck on anything you buy , so this is a given most anywhere you go. Having said that, this little place was pretty good. Our server James was very attentive and the food was really very good. I had the veggie delight with brown rice while my husband had the chicken pad thai. We had spring rolls too. The food was fresh, hot, fast and really delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant and the dining room was clean. All too often when we find a good place to go to eat on occasion we find that the dining rooms are dirty and that half of the dining rooms look like storage rooms. Makes me feel like I'm eating in the broom closet. That was certainly not the case here. It was clean, there was soft music, the temperature was comfortable and the tables and booths were clean to sit down to eat in. If purchase power was higher I'd go at least once a week. I do recommend this restaurant without reservation, I have no complaints. I look forward to more veggies and rice and if you stop in, say...
Read moreFirst time my husband and I came to Thai Smile Kitchen. We ordered 1 order of pineapple fried rice and crab rangoons thinking there would be plenty. When we came to pick it up there were two small containers. Both of us were furious about it costing us $31.86 for such a small amount of food. On our way home I kept saying, this food better be worth the money because this is ridiculous. Welcome to inflation! So irritating.
We got home and once laid out, the food came out to be more than it looked. We both were not left “full” however and typically there’s a small amount of leftovers, not for this place. The food itself was delicious though, which helps its ratings. The rice was warm and delicious and the rangoons were still crispy (they cut holes in the top to prevent the moisture from causing the rangoons to get soggy before getting home. Very well thought out.
Overall our biggest complaints were the smaller portion sizes and the cost. It does taste very good. If you like larger portion sizes or are on a budget, this isn’t the best choice for you. Otherwise, order more food , pay the...
Read moreWOW! Sometimes you are away from home and stumble across a place that exceeds all expectations - Thai Smile Kitchen is exactly that! While in Colorado Springs for one night from Los Angeles, we wanted some dinner close to the hotel and while walking to another place the hotel recommended, we came, across Thai Smile. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This cute restaurant has some of the best Thai food we had ever had. Every dish was fresh, cooked perfectly and delicious! Our server, Junior, who is of Thai origin was Accommodating, knowledgeable and awesome, and he couldn't have been nicer. And may I add - OH THE PRICES! I know we live in L.A. and many things cost more there, BUT the value for the quality of food, service and atmosphere was remarkable! If you live in C-Springs or plan on visiting, put this "off the beaten path" local treat on your list of must haves...you...
