South Jersey Subs — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

I tried to smoke a cigarette inside while I ate my sandwich and she started yelling at me telling me that I couldn't smoke inside. All I wanted to do is enjoy a cigarette with my sub. So I put the cigarette out and I enjoyed my delicious Sub. Sand-which might I add was handcrafted by an Angel behind the counter. I picked up here before. Never eaten here. I was in the area and stopped by. Honestly was more intrigued with the conversation than hungry before I ever tried the food. And boy I'm glad I did! After ordering a 12-inch delicious Sub accompanied by perfectly battered golden onion rings, which the onion rings are accompanied by handcrafted homemade ranch!🤯 The conversation flowed freely making it very comfortable while I ate. We chatted like old best-friends in a sub sandwich shop off the beaten path. We even talked about how the entire building is surrounded by a possibly deadly gas leak. Who knew? But we were safe inside and the repairs will be done soon! Can't wait to see this place renovated, parking lot reworked, in the new South Jersey Sub Shop Sign being put up! Wow did I ever have a bazaar experience here this week. I stop in at 10:38am walk in and someone I personally have never seen glances over her shoulder and looks at me like what are you doing here. "We're closed, we don't open till 11". I replied with "oh, ok. Sorry. Is their a menu I can take" She then says, "no we don't have menus to go". Ok, and I leave. I come back at 11:08am. Start giving her my order, I'm about ready to drop $70 and once I get to the 5th sub she says "For future reference, you need to call larger orders in at 11". At this point for obvious reasons, I am very frustrated so I said "Never mind, I'll just go elsewhere" and started to walk out. I turned around and said "You know, its very frustrating to have come in earlier and have you say, we aren't open and no you can't take a menu, come back in eight after 11 and you tell me I should call in next time". To which she started arguing with me, telling me I should have told her and on and on. I said why are you arguing with me, you were rude which is so weird because everyone is always nice here. More arguing from her so I walked out and she said "WE DON"T NEED YOUR BUSINESS" which stopped me dead in my tracks, I turned around and said "what did you just say". Was looking so forward to trying South Jersey Subs. So disappointed!! I bought a 12 inch cheesesteak with bacon and provolone cheese. The meat was bland and I don’t know where the bacon and cheese were. The meat was tasteless and DID NOT look like the same cheesesteak being advertised. As a matter of fact the meat did not look or taste like steak meat. I also bought an 8 inch hot chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, salt, pepper and provolone. The sandwich was bland and skimpy across the board. Not a big fan of shredded chicken although it was real chicken. The meat had a mushy consistency. I’m from NYC and this was nothing like back East. The bread is Ok but a little to thick. I took a few bites to make sure I wasn’t being hasty and even had my family sample. The results were the same. Maybe I caught them at a bad time.
