I actually used to work at this Starbucks back in 2014. At the time, we had great leadership and management. I'm not sure if that's changed - because the past two times I have gone to this Starbucks, I have received some of the worst service at any Starbucks I have ever been to. Annoyed, entitled baristas who act really put out when they have to serve you. It's really unfortunate because I loved my co-workers and my management team, and we never treated our customers this way. There was one incidence about a month ago, when I was going through the drive through around 3 pm, and the DTW barista did not say anything to me the entire interaction besides telling me the price of my coffee. No hi or anything. And then she proceeded to roll her eyes and slam the drive through window when I asked for a puppucino for my dog. I used to work at Starbucks - I know it can have its stressful days (as any job can) and therefore, sometimes having to do more than the bare minimum can be frustrating (sarcasm). However, there was so reason for the amount of attitude I was receiving from this girl. I was the only person in the drive through line, it was mid afternoon, and did not see why putting whipped cream in a cup would be such an inconvenience. I really hope that the service here turns around, because it's really unfortunate that things seemed to have changed so much since I...
Read moreStarbucks is a reward. Anyone who tells you that they go there for the quality of the coffee is lying. None the less, when you go to SB you have an expectation that your overpriced drink will meet the standards posted behind the counter that say "ever drink should be perfect." That's great, but often you don't know that your drink is anything but perfect until you're on the road, back at work and it's a little to late to go back to the counter and say "I only wanted 2 of the 5 pumps of mocha, not 7 total", can you fix it please. I go to Starbucks a lot for my feel good reward and this location seems to mess this up 1 of every 3 times. Be clear, and spend a few moments verifying your very hot drink before you walk out the door and make your way back to the disappointment that may, or may not be awaiting you.
Update: I think that I've become a coffee snob and while that might sound bad, I would argue that you should expect more and chase down quality. I've sense discovered local coffee shops in Arvada that are infinitely better and in the same price range. When you're in a pinch and Starbucks is all you can find, I love that it exists. But, I've gone for a few Starbucks a week to a few Starbucks a year. Stars adjusted...
Read moreThis is a ported Starbucks. It used to be on the other side of Broadway. Since its old store manager, Dave R., left a few years ago, the quality of the joint has been mostly maintained with a few notable exceptions.
Lacking a coffee master, it does not have a Clover brewing system, nor does it have many of the quality coffee selections other locations in the area offer. However, its baristas are used to a high volume of customers, so the line of cars at the drive-thru and the barista counter move quickly.
In the past 30 days, I've ordered 21 times according to my nifty Starbucks app, and all but 2 have been made perfectly. A pretty clean record for any Starbucks.
However, the staff are always busy and because of the limited internal space, you'll notice this location is rarely clean and up to Starbucks internal quality auditing standards. A massive departure from Dave's (the old store manager) expectations. And frankly, a bit disgusting when the trash can is overflowing more times than not.
In all, an updated location location to get a bit of work done and a reliably...
