I live 15 miles from this location. 2 weeks ago I placed an order in their drive thru. When I got home I opened my chili fries to find they were covered with lettuce and tomatoes! I called to see if they had changed the way they prepare their chill fries because I didn’t want lettuce and tomatoes on mine. The employee told me they had made a mistake with my order and to come back so they could fix it. I explained to her that I didn’t live close and that I would have to come back another day. She gave me her name and said to come back when I could and they would remake my chili fries at no charge. Today I go in with my receipt and name of the employee to get my order of chili fries. I’m greeted by the manager (who wasn’t very friendly) at the front counter to take my order. I said good morning to him and started to tell him what had happened with my last order. He proceeded to tell me that it is not their policy to fix an order unless it’s returned right after the order has been placed. When I tried to explain to him the situation and that I didn’t know the chili fries were made incorrectly until I got home, and that I didn’t live close by to return them that day he became very angry with me! Basically told me that the employee that said to come back on another day to fix the order “they screwed up” no longer worked there and she had no business telling me I could get a new order of chili fries at no charge. He continued to tell me that his cousin that owns that location would not allow for the order to be remade correctly on another day. He decided they would go ahead this time only and remake the chili fries at no charge. I told him that I also wanted to place an order for some food and while I was talking to him another employee rudely interrupted me and asked the manager to help her at the drive thru window. The manager didn’t excuse himself he just walked off while I was talking to him and he says “I don’t like you anyway” about me and goes over to the drive thru window with the employee. The manager then walks back over to me and says very rudely “what did you want to order?”I told him I decided I didn’t want to order anything from him after how badly I was being treated and to just give me the chili fries. As he walks off to get the chili fries he proceeds to tell me because I didn’t want to order any food from them that “it sucks to be you and start your morning off with so much anger”...As if I was the one who was being rude and angry! All I wanted was a silly order of chili fries that were made incorrectly by them and he acted like it was trying to get free food and was going to break their restaurant financially! Obviously reading the reviews I’m not the only one who’s been treated so badly by this establishment. And from what I’m learning about the owner Julian Cordova, he doesn’t really care how his customers are treated! All that matters is the money they bring in! If they really cared I would have been greeted by a professional manager with a friendly attitude that would have apologized for the mistake on my order and the inconvenience for having to come back! And speaking of money they should take some of it to remodel the inside of the restaurant and do some work to the drive thru! The place seems dirty and needs a serious makeover! Read moreI wish I could seriously give this place negative stars .. food taste so cheap and the place is so dirty. Me and my cousin went to this location with my daughter. We got our food to go cause we always never finish our food, but we were still going to eat part of it there. I got my daughter a grilled cheese which was probably the only thing worth anything here, it was actually very good. I got a smothered burrito, the cheese on the burrito was so gross and the chilli had no flavor to it. The only thing that was good was the burrito. All the issues though came with my cousins order. She ordered the chilli cheese fries with steak ... The cheese again was gross and the chilli had no flavor. The fries were skinny gross fries, looked like McDonalds. The steak look and tasted like cat food. She took only two bites from it, the first to discover how gross it was and the second to try to see if she could eat it regardless. Which she couldn't. So we went to the front counter and asked if she could get something different because she didn't like what she had and it was gross. The cashier told us no, so we asked to speak to a manager. The manager also told us no they will only make something if the order we got was wrong. I told her that my cousin didn't like the food she was served and wanted something else. She kept telling me no so I asked her for her GM's info which she didn't want to give to me so I told her to call the GM herself. Then spoke to the GM, who also told me it is against policy to give her something else. And i told her I'm not asking for my money back (which there were signs near the cashier stating no money back) that I was asking for something different. Then she told me that the worker that called her stated that my cousin are over half her food! How does 2 bites, with 2-3 fries each equal half he food on a big plate?! And I I also told her I could go to many other places (including big restaurants and McDonald's) and if I don't like what I'm served they will exchange it within price range. They still wouldn't exchange it for us! So we then had to end up going somewhere else to get her food, more money spent! This place has ridiculous customer service, and obviously have had issues in the past with people not liking their food and wanting money back due to the signs!! Read moreWe tried to order a breakfast burrito with corn tortilla; which they refused to do. Every other Mexican restaurant I have ordered from will substitute 3 corn tortillas for one flour. I am gluten free and cannot have flour tortillas. The fact that they don’t accommodate to this, is very disappointing. Also, I am dairy-free as well, so when I ordered some tater tots smothered with green chili with cheese on the side (sharing with boyfriend whom wanted cheese), they refused, saying “our managers won’t let us but we can do chili on the side or you can order without cheese”. So, I can pay the same price for no cheese but can’t get the cheese on the side? They refuse to accommodate this as well? Come on Chubby’s, you lose business by doing these types of things. You’ve lost mine. I won’t come back and I’ve been coming here for years when I wasn’t on diet restrictions.
We weren’t even greeted when we walked in. Stood there for five minutes before being acknowledged, while they walked passed us several times and completely ignored us. The inside of the restaurant was filthy and trash was all over the restaurant. The girl who finally did help us was unfriendly and looked like she hadn’t ever learned how to smile. Very disappointed.
Get home and my tater tots weren’t even smothered. Very little chili was put on top of the middle of the tater tots.
As I read through the reviews while deciding to write my own; I came to a realization that Chubby’s don’t care. They don’t care if they have rude service; poor quality of food; dirty restaurant and/or non accommodating. So these posts basically are for potential guests to quickly decide against eating here.
