Waffle House — Restaurant in Thornton

I would give -1000 stars if I could. Last night was my second time at this particular location within 72 hours. The first experience was below par , we were a bit invisible for a moment until the older black waitress decided to speak. We stayed , ate and left. Last night I went into the diner alone. I sat at the high bar at about midnight. I had a short young server. Very nice and and pleasant. I ordered my meal and ate inside while waiting on my son's to go order. Once I was done I asked for a small coffee to go . My server gave it to me and then I realized I had plenty coffee left inside of the mug so I asked for a larger cup so i could combine the two. The older black server grabbed a cup , did not in any way attempt to hand it to me. Instead she sat the cup upside down (rim on the counter) near me and walked off. I asked her what solution did she use to clean the high bar? She looked at me and said " bleach and laughed." I then asked for another cup because why would I pour a beverage inside of a cup that has bleach on the rim?? The older black server took the cup off of the high bar and placed it on the counter beside the beverages and orange juice and walked off. Never replacing the cup at all. At that point I asked her why she would give a customer a cup or anything in that manner knowing there are harmful chemicals on whatever it is she is handing out? She ignored me. At that point my server ( who was busy at the time of this womans actions) handed me a cup like a normal server would. I filled my cup and asked this older lady again, what her issue was and why would she give someone a cup in that manner? she proceeds to LITERALLY YELL inside of the restaurant , her work establishment, to YELL at the other guests on the other side of the restaurant " I AM SORRY YALL, THIS WOMAN IS ON DRUGS." referring to ME! I absolutely could NOT believe what I had heard. At that point I recorded this woman ,repeated back to her exactly what she had said out loud and as soon as she seen my cell phone she turned around and attempted to take an order at a table. She demanded that I leave and called the police. I waited on the police to arrive who deemed no harm done at all in anything I had asked ( duh!) and I left. Before leaving my server apologized to me and I assured her she did no wrong at all. The ONE question I asked the old black lady was absolutely warranted and logical. WHY WOULD YOU EVER GIVE A PAYING CUSTOMER A CUP UPSIDE ONTOP OF A COUNTER THAT COULD POSSIBLY HAVE DAMAGING CHEMICALS ON IT ???????????? ( The counter probably wasnt even wiped off at all if it required her to do it ) AND-- WHY WAS IT FUNNY TO HER TO TELL ME " I CLEAN IT WITH BLEACH." This older black lady was NOT pleasant at all when myself and my husband dined and she absolutely was not at ALL in her right mind last night to YELL inside her work establishment and blurt an accusation that a customer is on drugs simply because SHE has a nasty attitude and deemed it necessary to not even HAND a customer a CUP. She simply didn't like being called out about her behavior and unnecessary actions. This is my second encounter with this woman and neither time has she EVER been fast , efficient or kind. From someone who has worked in the food industry for 16 years there is absolutely no reason that this woman should be in customer service. I have reached out to corporate and I have also reached out to an attorney and sent my video of this altercation . Only needing a to go cup is now a defamation case . I was ACCUSED of being on drugs because SHE IS HORRIBLE AT HER OWN JOB ????? WAFFLE HOUSE NEEDS TO DO BETTER WITH THEIR...

First off, I love waffle house and go to them often as I travel the country because of how much food you get for the price. I would have given them even 3 stars for that alone if not for everything being awful about this location. I do have a lot to say, but hopefully the manager looks at these and makes some changes or at least does some training. I was here 3/23/16 around 1 pm.

I get the all star every time I go to a waffle house so I'll start with my food before I get in to the service. The hash browns were not quite as brown as I would have liked, but that's pretty normal and not something I would normally care about. The O/M eggs were 1 over easy and 1 over hard, which is kind of impressive now that I think about it. The waffle was undercooked. The sausage was the real problem because they were covered in black crap from the grill and tasted like charcoal. And there are floatys in my coffee, gross.

The service was horrendous. When I walked in the workers are so busy talking crap on one of the other employees that they are neglecting every customer. When the server finally convinced the cook to start cooking food, it took her another 10 minutes to come say hi to me and get my order, so in total about 15 minutes just sitting at the table, with maybe 2 other tables that she had to worry about at that moment. I get my food eventually but it had to be brought over by the cook because the server was too distracted still talking crap about that one terrible employee. I had to ask 4 times for the waffle that is supposed to come with the meal, after seeing several waffles go out to customers who got here after me, I finally got it. To be somewhat fair, the employee they kept talking about, really does suck. I have been here for like an hour and have hardly seen her without her phone in her hand, she has gone out for at least 3 cigarettes and has not done any real work the entire time I've been here. But the complaining and whining behind the counter was incessant, they were complaining about literally everything, not just that crappy employee.

This place needs to fire their staff and hire on people who actually want to go to work and make money. With how cheap this place is, the 5$ minimum tip I would have given is a 50% tip. I feel dirty for even thinking about giving less than 10%, but I can't justify giving someone money for halfassing their...

Looking forward for a waffle house near me thats a joke if your looking for cross contamination, and employees who have no integrity be my guest. I was excited to dine in around 8pm today it was suppose to be an exciting experince for my 5yr old. Being able to see them cook. Turned into a complete mess. Emma the cook layed down raw bacon and sausage to cook. She procced with the same gloves she touch raw meat with to obtain a 20 dollar tip stuck in her pocket on her t-shirt. No biggy may be she going to take her gloves off. NOPE she procced with gloves that touched raw meat , and money to touch a a plate with toast. To continue to reach above to grab fresh bread out the package while wiping her dirty gloves on her Clothing then proceeded to cooking hash browns. I got up to address my server Aburi of such cross contamination privately and just offer to pay for only the drinks we had. Honestly was disgusted out because I have a 5yr old and a 11 month old unexceptable. Aburi was continuesly apologetic. I thought she'd bring it to her attention the mistake she made to fix and inform her of proper protocol OMG no I left to watch aburi bag the cross contaminated food in to go containers and serve to the other guest. DISGUSTED I proceeded to call and address such shity food safety. Neither cared for the potential harm they are bringing to customer. Not only will I be in tomorrow am to talk with store manager or who ever is in charge of these older gals but I will be contacting the city of such cross contamination N lack of knowledge these employees have. someone is going to end up sick if you can't follow food safety stay out of the food industry. These 2 ladies could cause waffle house a law suit if someone end us sick. Yall need to watch these ladies bc neither have integrity if so Aburi would of took Initiative to throw the food out and showed Emma the correct way nor serve it to guest knowing she could cause them...
