Friends of 5 wanted to try the new spot on the block since the word spread around was good so far. Decor âď¸ when we arrived and asked for a table there was no wait bc the restaurant only goes by reservations on the weekend. She said it straight like this âoh we canât take yall weâre booked and only do reservations during Friday, Saturday, Sunday.â okay, bet! As we were walking out another lady walked up and was trying g to accommodate us and one of my girls inquired about sitting outside then since it was clearly open. She initially said âthereâs no way for you to eat out there and we wouldnât have anyone to serve you all like you know what Iâm saying?â Chy I was ret ta go! Someone stated that more servers were coming in and the couple tables they had out there (yea I know she said that and clearly were some tables outside) she moved together to seat us. So following the lead of our event host we all sat to eat. Our server (Bren) was very kind, knowledgeable, willing to check for everything and straight up honest about all the things they have and donât have. She made the experience personable.
Hereâs the maths: 5 ppl = $300 3 appetizers 5 entrees 3 cocktails (Twerkalators and French 75)
Appetizers (2) OYSTERS 7/10 The breading was not special. It was balled up soft but dry and the âsauceâ they spread around the plate kept giving me the vodka sauce you buy off the shelves. The oyster itself could have been more seasoned. But it was the most raved about dish for the table all around SEAFOOD STUFFED SHELLS: 0/10 There wasnât anything âseafood about it. The breading and sauce was the exact same as what was on the oysters. The shell is this big shells you buy off the shelves. Dry and so cold. Also, came out with the entrees.
Entrees: (we asked individually and tasted a bite of each others) LEMON PEPPER LAMBCHOP: 10/10 Cooked well done, it was blackened but still flavorful enough. The side dish was mashed potatoes( w/ skin and had to add S&P) and asparagus(needed seasoning) MARRY ME CHICKEN: 5/10 The tik tok meal was basic. Chicken was a nice size but similar sauce (you already know) the side of Mac n cheese was dry, looked and tasted like it was cooked way earlier and needed more flavoring and heat. ALFREDO W/ CHICKEN AND SHRIMP 5/10 Just basic Alfredo dish the sauce was there but not saucy and the noodles were so cooked that it dried up the sauce. CLUB SANDWHICH AND FRIES 3/10 (Picky eater) all because her fries were cold and plain with no seasoning and she didnât get her ketchup at all lol CAJUN CRAWFISH SALMON 6/10 The slamon was charred in the edges but cooked well inbetween so I was able to eat it. The crawfish mixed in the sauce was a first and last for me. Just too much mixing of seafood. The mashed potatoes DO HAVE skin on it if you donât like skin in yours donât order their potatoes. The Mac n cheese is like the others day old and dry, but they put it in a warmer because it was super hot and I couldnât eat my food right away. Make sense though, because mine came out last like minutes after to where my cousin kept asking âdang what did...
Read moreYallâŚI never write reviews EVER. I usually just take my L and go but this just needs to be said. My family and I came to Champagne after my graduation to have a nice dinner since it was a new black owned business in the area but we were unfortunately disappointed to say the least.
Starting out I got a âtwerk tequilaâ cocktail and it was so so sweet to the point where I couldnât finish it. I couldnât taste any alcohol it was straight juice.
Our server was sweet and had great energy but she was not knowledgeable about the menu, but it made sense once we figured out it was her first day but she was not trained at all. We tried to order champagne for the celebration but there was noneâŚweird considering that is the name of the restaurant. There wasnât a drink menu either besides the twerk stuff so anything we wanted she would have to go and check if they could actually make it.
Iâm honestly not sure where to start with the food. We ordered our oysters for our appetizers, waited for about 20 minutes and then 3 entrees came out before our appetizers. My mom ordered a plate of wings and they were so small literally the size of my pinky. The flavor was good but not even filling enough for one person with how small they were. Our oysters came out but then not shortly after our entrees came so we didnât really have time to enjoy them. I ordered the ribeye, cooked medium and everything was cold. Everything. Was. Cold. My steak was well done even though I ordered medium, the asparagus was not cut and hard, and the macaroni was flavorless. The salmon was okay but also cold, the marry me chicken was okay, the lamb chops were good.
Next the atmosphere. It is a very cute restaurant and I can tell they spent a lot of time decorating but it does not match the quality of everything else. I understand that it is a lounge after a certain time but I felt the music was really inappropriate and not censored at all. Like they were playing p*y fairy by jhenie aiko uncensored while im trying to enjoy a nice meal next to my grandparents đ
Overall I think they need to reevaluate the restaurant piece of this place because it was just so unacceptable. I was looking forward to having a nice celebration meal but got...
Read moreThis is my honest opinion from my experience at Champagneâ- I will start with the atmosphere. Itâs a very small space downstairs (I didnât go upstairs and Iâll explain why later) it was decorated nicely and the tables were spaced out nicely, music was a tad loud but it was ok. Service: service was slow..nice young lady but more servers are needed. Food: (now this ties in with service as well) the drinks came out at an avg time- they were made correctly..I have no complaints about the drinks. The food- Iâm goin to start by saying they have potential bc the food was seasoned BUT my dish (marry me chicken- a dish with chicken covers in a cream based sauce on top of a bed of mashed potatoes, and a side broccoli with sauce) was extremely salty. The sauce ruined the entire dish. Easy fix-I alerted the waitress- sent it back⌠it came backđł and to my amazement it was the same exact plate with my chicken that I had cut a Piece off ofđ. They apparently WIPED the sauce off and drenched it with the ânewâ sauce (which was now way too runny)..but it doesnât stop ThereâŚone of the people I was with sliders was salty and missing the onion ring off the top. She bit the burger - alerted the waitress it was missing the toppingsâŚthe waitress retrieved the dish - took it to The kitchen- came back 10-15 mins later with the same bit off slider- with the onion rings on top. My issue with returning the same food we ate off of to us is this- I canât see whatâs goin on in the kitchen so I canât say they you arenât touching bit off food with the same gloves that youâre making fresh food with. You could have simply brought the topping out on a separate plate and let the young lady fix it herself and the chicken plate should have been replaced completely. Another young lady I was with order lamb chops- they were cooked incorrectlyâŚ.she sent it back and it took her close to and 40-45 mins to get another plate and we was told that it was due to a large party coming in AFTER us. We spent approx 3hrs there trying to EATâ we spoke with the manger/owner â he was nice. He gave 30% off of the tickets and informed us of the upstairs area but by then we were over it. As I stated previously - the restaurant have potential but...
