Motor Supply Co. in Columbia, SC, is an absolute gem that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere that set the tone for an incredible dining experience. The ambiance is charming and sophisticated, perfectly blending modern style with rustic charm.
The menu at Motor Supply Co. is a culinary masterpiece. Each dish is crafted with the finest, freshest ingredients, and the attention to detail is evident in every bite. I had the pleasure of trying their farm-to-table creations, and I was blown away by the explosion of flavors. The pork chop with sausage gravy was particularly amazing, cooked to perfection and bursting with savory goodness.
The service was impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and drink offerings. Caroline, the bartender, was awesome and crafted the most delightful beet margarita I've ever had. Her expertise and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit.
One highlight was their craft cocktails. The mixologists at Motor Supply Co. are top-notch, creating innovative and delicious drinks that perfectly complement the meal. Each cocktail was a work of art, both visually stunning and delightfully balanced.
To top it all off, the peach cobbler was the most amazing dessert I've ever had. The perfect blend of sweet, tangy peaches and a buttery, crumbly topping left me wanting more.
Overall, Motor Supply Co. is a must-visit for anyone in Columbia, SC. The combination of exceptional food, outstanding service, and a delightful atmosphere makes it a standout dining destination. I can't wait to return and experience more of their culinary delights. Highly...
Read more12/27/19: My date and I were walking along Main Street between 7:30 and 8:00 pm. We decided to go ahead and have dinner since it was getting late. We chose this restaurant since it received high reviews on Trip Advisor. Upon entering, we informed the hostess that we didn’t have reservations. She stated that this would not be a problem but would be a 30-45 minute wait. Another staff member walked up, looked at the seating chart, and seated us immediately. The restaurant was not crowded. Four to five tables were open. In fact, two guys came in behind us (without reservations) and were seated immediately across from our seats. When our waitress finally showed up at our table after spending much time with the guys that were seated across from us after we were seated, she introduced herself and gave us the water that she sat on the guys’ table while talking with the guys across from us. I ordered a coke. The waitress (maybe her name was Ashley) took the coke over to the table and sat it on the table while she again conversated with these guys. With her counterfeit smile and very obvious struggle to be polite and professional, she finally brought the drink over to our table. Needless to say, we left $10 underneath the untouched glass of coke that was placed by the untouched glasses of water and left. Not only did we not want to continue to wait in that unwelcoming environment, but we didn’t want our food to visit other tables before being served to us. I guess we didn’t meet the requirements needed to dine at this fine establishment. I can tell you that it wasn’t a dress code issue. If anything, we were overdressed for that...
Read moreVery disappointed in my first visit to Motor Supply. Not only did it take nearly 20 minutes just to get our drinks, the food was extremely underwhelming. The scallops were cold and looked raw in the middle, not to mention it was $22 for 2 scallops. Other places would charge $30-$35 and give you 4-5 scallops. My girlfriend wanted to get a side of fries with the scallops, and they were somehow “out” of sides of fries. Mind you this was around 7 PM, still fairly early on in the evening. Please tell me how a restaurant runs out of fries on a Friday night? The salad we got was $14 and was definitely not worth it. The mussels were the only part of the meal that tasted good, however, they were $15 for 12-14 of them. Other places would give you a lot more for the same price. I got the manhattan strip steak, and it had absolutely no flavor, plus it was $41, and I was still hungry afterwards. Honestly Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse make way better steaks. We were initially looking forward to getting dessert, but after everything we had eaten, we couldn’t wait to leave. Was hoping this was just a bad night at Motor Supply, but it was so bad, we definitely will not be coming back. No idea how this place is “highly recommended”. Our dinner ended up coming to $160 with tip, and my girlfriend didn’t even get a full entree (the 2 raw scallops and no fries), and were still hungry afterwards. We literally went to go get burgers somewhere else after because it was so bad. I like to support local restaurants, but this place is highway robbery and has very...
