Fresh, quality food delivered fast at a reasonable price. Is there anything else you could ask for??? Yes! It just so happens there IS. It's called great customer service. And they've got that down. My lunch order through Foodsby came up missing (most likely taken by someone who works in my building). I emailed to confirm it was sent out for delivery. Drew said he'd look into it and could offer a refund. I told him just to confirm the order went out and if so, no refund was necessary (my fault for letting the sandwich sit in the lobby for nearly an hour). I even told him the security guard says it happens all the time. Well, they STILL insisted on refunding me for the lunch. I then mentioned to him that my kids LOVE their cookies and I'd order more than one (take home) with my lunch but the Foodsby app limits the count to one. The very next day, they'd made the change to the Foodsby app (granted, selling more cookies can only be good for business. But still....you just don't EVER see this kind of responsiveness from food vendors these days. I am so, completely, absolutely and utterly impressed with this business. More so than I've been with any other in a very, very long time. Whoever is operating the business obviously still believes in the "old school" way of treating customers. I have no doubt they'll survive these hard economic times while others don't. And I really hope to see them grow and succeed. Trust me - these are the kinds of businesses we should want to keep around. Thank you...
Read moreMy first visit to this GH location. I am giving 3 stars based on the reasons below.
I’ve been a GH fan since 2006, so it has been about 12 yrs. My previous GH stores were in Burke, VA and Morton, IL. Compared to those two stores they were showing less of that GH welcoming atmosphere, friendliness, and that eagerness is staffs offering you the slices of bread.
Again, keep in mind that this was my first time visiting this store so maybe I had a not so best visit. Also I’m writing my opinion based on my 12yrs of my experience at GH with other branch stores.
Chocolate chip cookie tasted dry. Oatmeal raisin cookie was a little better compared to chocolate chip cookie. The scone... I don’t know but it does not seem made on the same day. If chocolate chip cookies and scores were made on the same day... I don’t know what went wrong (I am sitting outside of GH Columbia location and trying the goods I just bought so it’s not that I’m tasting bakery goods a day after I purchased).
Maybe this location is mainly focused on other stuff such as sandwiches, soups, etc. I have not tried those and I think I should down the road.
Overall, I was so excited to establish my GH bakery again once I moved to MD but... oh well, unlikely will be going as frequently as I used to.
However, I’ll try other bread and see if my first experience...
Read moreThis used to be one of my favorite bakeries in Columbia. It’s been a little while since I’ve been here and I was looking forward to the wonderful breakfast sandwiches that they served. Unfortunately today when I’ve ordered a biscuit with egg and cheese, I was sorely disappointed. Wow the sandwich was large but it was tasteless. The bacon tasted as if it had been cooked for a long period of time and sat in its grease for days upon days. It was flavorless and almost rancid I flavor. The cheese had no flavor. It was a waxy mess on top of my sandwich. And unfortunately the egg wasn’t much better. I’m so disappointed and I wished harvest bread had done what I had hoped they would do which was live up to my expectations and memories of it as a wonderful bakery. Be on your guard don’t order the breakfast sandwich if you want something hearty delicious and full of flavor, you may need to...
