WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! My mom, sister, my two daughters and myself visited this establishment on 7/31/25...upon entering the restaurant it was warm inside..ok cool but not really....the waitress finally comes to the front and this was the first thing she said "this is our menu(written on a dry erase board soon as you walk in) for today take a picture of it and sit at that first booth and I'll be back in ten minutes." Mind you my mom is 77y.o and a table would of been more comfortable for her as well as there was NO ONE dining in so tables with chairs were available! So I took one of the chairs from one of the tables and sat it at the end of the booth. When she returns she tell us to move to the table because how we were sitting would confuse her when she bring the plates out. So we gather ourselves and move to the table as instructed....she takes our drink order bring them drinks back and ask if we were ready to order....she takes my mom order then my sister then my daughter(my daughter was indecisive)so I told the waiter "I'll go ahead and give you my order while she makes her mind up" the waiter told me "No I'm going to take yall order in the way yall are seated" so then my daughter asked her to come back because she was undecided. So I was next I began telling her my order(which was fried chicken mac n cheese and green beans) the waiter rudely interrupted me and say " THAT CHICKEN GO TAKE 20 MINUTES!" by this time I was done! I asked her to just give me the ticket for the drinks myself and my two daughters had and I was going to be on my way. My daughters and myself left! My mom and sister stayed and said the food was really good....I really wanted to support small black owned businesses however its hard to do so when the customer service is trash! I WILL NEVER RETURN AND IF ASKED I WILL SAY I HEAR THE FOOD IS GOOD HOWEVER I WITNESSED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE FIRST HAND AND IT WAS THE WORST IVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY 43...
Read moreWe stopped here to meet a friend for lunch on our way home from Atlanta. We entered the restaurant but there was no one at the front to tell us if we needed to seat ourselves or if we needed to wait to be seated. Well, we seated ourselves. Once the waitress came over to get our drink orders, she came back and took our food orders. Well, we didn't know that we needed to memorize the menu of sides on the dry erase board that was posted at the front as we walked in. When placing our order, we were asked which sides we wanted. (This is when the memorization comes into play) The first ones that we named weren't available for today. My wife ordered first and was made aware of this. No problem. So, I ordered next. I placed my order and was rudely asked if we looked at the board when we came in?? Wellllll, if I had known that I needed to commit the menu to memory, I would have taken a picture!!! The older lady with the shoulder length jheri curl was our waitress and her disappointing service continued throughout the duration of our time. She really acted as if WE inconvenienced HER by coming in to eat! Well, the piss poor attitude explained why the restaurant was practically empty during lunch hours, with the exception of an older couple who had been there for quite some time. Overall, the food was good, but a bit overpriced for 1 turkey wing, some pinto beans, rice, some subpar unpleasant collards, and some cornbread. $17.99. But, had the service and attitude of the waitress been better, I would have gladly paid more. The service and attitude were so bad that I wouldn't spend my money here ever again nor refer anyone here because I would dare not want to inconvenience the employees by having them...
Read moreI soooo don't like to down our businesses. I also think that by speaking truth, establishments have the opportunity to improve. Sat aprox. 3PM: The exterior aesthetics are nice. Once inside, there's a wet board, and you have to memorize WHAT IS AVAILABLE THAT DAY. The hospitality is lacking, even with there only being like (6) people in there. When you order, and say an item that they are not serving that day, they ask "Did you read the wet board?" Somehow, they don't see how this is offensive. Service was 4/10, they were professionally pleasant, (this is different than genuinely pleasant. Theres a difference.) Bottom line, servers are borderline rude. The sweet tea was good. The remaining food, I had turkey wing (1) was cooked, not seasoned, same with the black eye peas, and cabbage ($19.) All thoroughly cooked, but lightly seasoned (if at all). My wife had baked chicken, baked beans, cabbage, and rice and gravy. The chicken was tender but under seasoned. The gravy was watery. The cabbage and corn bread were decent ($19.) Overall, there was nothing amazing or even average about the food. Put me in mind of having dinner at that old Aunties house, that USED to be a great cook, but life and time has taken its toll. You eat based on what memory's and what it SHOULD be... Improve your hospitality, hit Ollie's up for some seasonings, keep your workers from posted up in the parking lot, then traveling through the establishment smelling "loud". Ohh the plates!! Wait until you see the shallow plates they serve your food on. Only when your done do you realize this optical illusion. If the food were Masterful / comparable this wouldn't be an issue. But for the price you pay, every deficiency...
