Ordered masala dosas, mango lassi, and thandai. Customer service was great; very responsive, friendly, and polite. We received each dosa one at a time (probably about 5-10 min between each, which is not ideal). The dosa is served in a cone shape, which is not the typical shape. They did, however, accommodate the one person who's heart longed for the normal rectangle shape. I was disappointed there was not enough filling and the sambar didn't have enough veggies in it. However, they did provide extra sambar upon request. Flavor was lovely even though it needed a touch of salt (which they brought upon request). Mango lassi was good. Thandai was not great; it was under spiced (you should taste almonds, cardamom, poppy seeds, cantaloupe seeds, and black pepper). This seemed like a watered-down version of the authentic drink. In a good location. One of the other reviews mentioned complimentary milk tea. That offer doesn't appear to be available anymore. Priced a bit higher than is probably necessary for the...
Read moreThis is the second time Iâve been here. Today I got the chicken kabob and asked about lamb. The owner suggested a lamb dish, and it was amazing! The lamb was seasoned so well, and the naan was fluffy and hit the spot.
The chicken Kabob was excellent as well. The right amount of spice, and the sauce that came with it was excellent. 2 for 6$ was a great price! But you have to get the mango lassi with it.
I also tried an eggplant vegetarian dish that the owner suggested and it was so good! Iâm not vegetarian but would gladly eat that dish anywhere at anytime. Such great flavors.
I can rave about the food all day, but the best part for me was the kindness of the owner. Sheâs so kind and helpful. The amount of dedication, effort, and time she puts into her food and customer service shows.
I will continue to come back and try everything they have to offer! This place can do no wrong in my opinion, and the service is excellent. Also donât forget to try the chai tea she...
Read moreFood away from home. I think that says it all. I have tried a lot of Indian places around DMV area but always find that though the food is good, they don't capture the essence of Indian food - the rich deep flavor, the spices. Thatâs where NAMASTE FOODIE stands out. The food is authentic Indian food and remains true to the Indian Taste. The menu is full of choices from street food like Chaat, Samosas to full course meals like Wraps (Kathi Roll), Curry Chicken. If you are NEW to Indian food, YOU MUST START HERE. My recommendation, try Chaat, Masala Chai (A Must) and Kathi Roll (yuumm and healthy). The customer service is great. I loved that you can directly talk to the guy over counter and get your food personalized as you want. Yes, you are right, you choose the spice level you want with recommendations...
