Manow Thai In the mood for some fresh and tasty Thai food? Find some time to visit this small restaurant in the Clarksville Commons Shopping Center in Clarksville, MD. A little tricky finding the entry to turn into the parking lot which is in the back, slow down as the driveway pops up very quickly as you come along Rt. 108. The restaurant itself is on the lower level of a two story structure. The space is small but clean and comfortable to sit at. They have a brisk take out business, so don’t be surprised that the person waiting on you at the tables is more likely the one who truly runs the cash register for the take out side of the business. Our server was very polite though and he did his best with our large group of 11 people. Meals did not arrive all together for our group. I do believe the dishes were prepared along with their brisk take out business, so there was some lag in some receiving their dishes than others in our group. The appetizers of summer rolls and dumplings were enjoyed and prepared with fresh ingredients and dipping sauces. My test of how fresh a salad truly is would be in how their green papaya salad is prepared. I was pleased with how fresh and delicious this was. Also the Pad Thai was delicious, not too spicy and full of flavor with a small extra cost for the shrimp I added to my meal. Portions were generous and several of us took extras home. I would like to return someday and try other things from their wide amount of menu choices and probably do take out that is so popular.

Authentic Thai Gem in Clarksville – Manow Thai Manow Thai, located in the charming Clarksville Commons shopping center, is a true hidden gem for authentic Thai food lovers. As someone who is Thai, I can honestly say this place serves dishes with real Thai flavor—it’s not just another Americanized Thai restaurant. Everything we ordered tasted just like home! I had the Larb Tofu, and it was absolutely delicious. What I love is that you can customize it with either steamed tofu or crispy tofu. I went with steamed, and it was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of spice and tang. One dish I highly recommend is their calamari appetizer—I forgot to snap a picture, but it was so unique and flavorful that I’m still thinking about it. A must-try! The cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner. The decor is warm and inviting, and you immediately feel comfortable as you walk in. The service was also top-notch—friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. If you're in the area or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by Manow Thai. You won't be disappointed!

Went out to lunch with another person and between the two of us we split garden rolls(vegetarian summer rolls), chicken satay, and pineapple fried rice. The rolls and satay each came with a delectable sauce that I could not get enough of. So delicious! And then we get to the pineapple fried rice!!! OMG! The spice profile of the pineapple fried rice was on point and had so many layers. I have never experienced a dish like that before. We will definitely be back to try other dishes and see what else Manow has to offer. They just opened a few weeks ago so they have occasional hiccups but I definitely see this becoming part of our regular restaurant rotation.

Came in for a quick lunch this Sunday since the Thai place is in the neighborhood. Food was ok and bland without much flavor I'm used to from other Thai restaurants. Spending $50 for a lunch when there is so much competition and alternatives was surprising there was any rude attitudes. Highland and Clarksville is a multicultural, multiracial community. My wife is African and wears a Hijab and I'm African American. The guy was just plain rude, short in responses and not very helpful. We almost left but the next Thai restaurant was 20 minutes away in Ellicott City.

This wasn't even what was surprising because I just ignored the behavior as him being tired. We sat down to eat and when he brought the food to the table we said thank you politely and he didn't respond, he just rudely dropped the plates and bowl on the table and walked away. He never responded to us. We looked at each other like what was that about? šŸ™„

However, when the white customers came into the store, OH...MY...GOD...the smile was out. The helpfulness and customer service was now happening. He miraculously and suddenly became very bubbly and friendly. When we walked in the place was empty. After we started eating, 15 minutes later 8 customers came in and sat down to eat. Their Thank you's we're responded to with warm, "your welcome!" and he suddenly became responsive and he was all smiles and happy. šŸ˜³šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø . Wow...some foreigners don't realize to treat EVERYONE the same. Black or White or Asian or anybody... Good grief. With a thick Thai accent, we did not judge and read the menu instead because we couldn't really understand him. However, the other lady kept making him repeat what he was saying. 🤣

We won't be going back again. Which is sad because our property is right down the road 5 minutes away. In 2022, I don't even get upset...I just feel shake my head at this stupidity...

I truly wish I could provide no stars. I just left this restaurant (carry out with seats) due to a man’s very disrespectful and rude demeanor over my not tipping in advance. My daughters and I drove from EC to give them a try and were so excited to. When we arrived we were greeted as normal. The set up was a bit weird as it lays out like a regular seating and full service restaurant however you walk up to the register to place your own order, obtain and fill your own drink etc. I ordered over $80 worth of items selected no tip (until I seen what tip was deserved by service I intended to pay in cash) grabbed our drinks and proceeded to sit down. This man not sure who he is to the restaurant slammed his feet over to our table put our receipt down and said ā€œ Here’s your receipt this total (pointing at the amount) without tipping.ā€ I was completely shock at his tone and level of disrespect. I responded excuse me! He walks away screaming back to the front in front of other guests, 5 people you need to tip the waitress.

You’re kidding me?! You want me to do all the work and then tip in advance because plates are brought to the table. The remaining of the service we provided to ourselves. (Again my intention was to tip once our service was completed, the tip would have been according to the work completed)

I will never again step in that restaurant and most definitely will continue to recommend Eatini in ellicott City. At the rate of reviews I see about this man. I imagine he’s the owner. I pray his business survives. At the level and rate he is disrespecting people, he will have a cold oven and grill soon enough.

Without your guests support you are nothing! Keep...

Manow Thai has terrible food. Spouse wrote a review last night and I note it's dropped right to the bottom of the google-selected order in which reviews appear - personally I like to see the most recent reviews first. You can sort them at the top by clicking on highest, lowest, most recent etc. Recommend if you're here reading their reviews you sort by lowest. Many of them are in the last year.

We had completely inedible dishes - yellow curry and vegetable stirfry. For both we selected "medium spice" -- it was too hot to eat more than one bite. Called Manor Thai's number to ask if there had been some sort of mistake, and to offer to return the food if they'd make it again as really medium. Hung up on by the woman who answered the phone after she told us some implausible story about how the chillies can be different so the spice level will vary (so why offer customers the option to choose?). If you read all the reviews (sort by lowest), there's a pattern of this sort of poor customer service, and making customers feel unwelcome.

Uber initially said we weren't entitled to a refund (because the reason you have to select is "problem with taste" which is subjective of course. However we persisted with ubereats, sending them pictures of the food in the bin and explaining what happened, how the food was actually too spicy to even swallow, and they did then give a full refund.

Will be using the credit at a different restaurant and will never return to Manow Thai. Anywhere can make a mistake, but it's how you deal with it that counts. Any business that hangs up on a customer who is politely asking if they can correct a problem is showing what they think of...
