Several tasty looking options. I tried the normal bahn-mi with bbq pork ("most popular") and a side of fries.
Good, well-priced. Weekday (Tu-Th) specials.
Fresh, good texture, the right kind of bread... but the flavor on the BBQ pork is too strong for this dish. It overwhelms what is supposed to be a nuanced medley of flavor & texture. Similarly, it's lacking the mild heat expected of this sandwich, with jalapeno slices (round) served on the side, instead of sliced thin on the sandwich itself. I didn't see any hot sauce on offer.
I might be happier with the other meats-- I'll try again. There's also rice bowl options that sound tasty.
The hefty portion of fries was a surprise winner. Lightly seasoned/textured, hot & crisp. Very nice.
I was excited to find a new Bahn Mi spot in the 'burbs- if you know, you know it's one of the finest forms of sandwich in the world- a perfect balance of flavor & texture, savory, zesty, crunchy, smooth. Delicious, not heavy, and even pretty healthy. Try...
Read moreThis past Sunday, we visited Clarksville Common farmers market yesterday, and stumbled upon Anhmazing banh mi within the Clarksville Common Food Kitchen which showcases international food stalls from small local businesses!
I remember hearing about this business which used to have a location at the Block Food Hall in Pike and Rose before closing down. Since they opened earlier than other stalls, we bought a banh mi. Ahnmazing Banh Mi also sells other dishes like beef noodle, dumplings, and homemade steamed buns.
We split the lemongrass pork banh mi ($13 2), which came with two freshly fried vegetarian spring rolls and sauce. Oh man, the banh mi was PACKED to the brim and had a good amount of veggies and meat. So juicy. I could tell that some of the bread was scooped out, but I prefer it that way so the banh mi can be stuffed even more. 😉 I'm no banh mi expert, but really...
Read moreUnfortunately I have to edit my review based on service only. Numerous times when I order online they do not have my food ready in time. This is a big issue when crunched for time between classes and I don’t have time to wait. Recently I ordered online before they opened and the order hadn’t even printed when I arrived. This is unacceptable and needs to be fixed.
I don't post many reviews, but this place deserves one. The food here is amazingly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The only draw back is that it does take a while to get your food, but if you call ahead the wait time is greatly reduced. I prefer the lemongrass chicken sandwich, but the BBQ pork is also very good. The soup that accompanies the sandwich is very tasty too, and the pork egg rolls are delicious. This is a great place to get lunch if you are in the...
