Wheelchair Accessible, with accessible parking and bathrooms. The doors are heavy but once you're inside there are places to be. There are also plenty of places not to be, like booths on 4" platforms.
The lighting is good enough to read lips and sign, but if you're short you'll want to bring a baseball cap or the bright hanging light bulbs will blind you at the table. If you're hard of hearing you probably won't be able to hear your server and they won't likely speak up or gesture, but they will duck their heads and repeat themselves at the same volume. Happens every time, so now I just point to the menu and let somebody else at the table order for me.
The food is good enough but their prices are climbing beyond the price point that the food quality reaches. The fries are always hot because they're always making them, so that's nice.
Most of the items on the menu are delicious. Most of the items on the menu approach or exceed 1,000 calories. They have tips on how to save a few hundred calories, like not ordering cheese or a bun, but that's no excuse for not having more nutrition on the menu for such a high calorie count.
I ordered the avo-cobb-o salad, which is only about 600 calories without dressing. It was no $14 salad. It's mostly iceberg lettuce, which is dirt cheap and offers no nutritional value.
The burgers are always good and the buns are always disappointing. The buns arrive wet and they eventually fall apart from all the stuff pulled onto them. There are better buns out there and I expect better at that price point. Conveniently, this location is in Columbia, where most people can afford to eat out without looking at the prices, anyway.
It could be a great restaurant, but instead it's expensive, with no nutrition, sky-high saturated fat, and sticky tablets on the table that you have to pay to use.
I remember Red Robin being so much better than...
Read moreRed Robin is a favorite go-to spot for my friends and I. Even though I prefer more gourmet, local burger joints, Red Robin keeps me coming back with an ever-innovative menu, solid atmosphere, and very fair prices.
I get that the meats and the ingredients aren't the freshest or highest quality-- but it's a large corporate chain, you expect nothing more and nothing less than what you get. That said, I personally love the food here and I am impressed time and time again by the creative menu choices. The atmosphere at this particular location is robust as well, there's plenty of seating options and it's usually pretty busy. It never gets too loud, never too quiet (at least during evenings). Service is the reason for a 4-star review; I always find that while the servers are agreeable, they take way too long between visits to my table. It can be jarring when you have to wait 10-15 minutes just to see your server.
Things I Liked:
Whiskey River BBQ Chicken - This sandwich is amazing; its tangy without being too sweet, the chicken portion is sizable, and the sandwich fills you up. The whiskey flavor doesn't really shine through the sauce and I wish the onion straws served up measurable crunch, but they don't. Still, this is a great entree.
Red's Bold Boneless Wings - All of Red Robin's boneless wings appetizers are amazing. You get a decent portion of wings smothered in your favorite sauce with potato chips and dipping sauce.
Towering Onion Rings - Self explanatory. Get it.
Milkshakes - Red Robin always serves up great shakes.
Things I Disliked:
Fries - The fries are decent and they're bottomless, but the first serving tends to be cold and not as fresh. The second serving (upon request) is always much hotter.
Insider Tips: *Get the bottomless lemonade! Ask for extra...
Read moreMust read. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (Outstanding staff, super clean, great food, fun atmosphere and amazing service) We wanted to take a moment to share our experience with everyone and let them know how happy we are to visit this location. Our service is always phenomenal each and every time we visit and we have been there many times for many years as we live close by. This time we were hosted by Jessie (please forgive is spelling of name is off in any way). Service was simply outstanding, fun and extremely helpful as we enjoyed our meal. The runners and hosts from greeting to seating MUST be recognized as well because the teamwork here is flawless based on our experience. FOOD was excellent and very tasty. It’s one of those instances that you hope it would look and taste the same way you see it in the picture. That’s where my compliments are for the kitchen. 👍😊 It was a very well-rounded positive experience and Jessie made it even more special because she had a super cordial disposition that just made you feel like you were very welcome. With that said; I/we finally need to sincerely thank GUY who is behind the scenes as the manager who clearly has a talent for keeping the positive vibe strong within the awesome team. That means when you have a team synchronized, happy and super productive with a smile like this; you’ve made it a great place to work and enjoy a meal. Right on Columbia Red Robin for ALWAYS making it special and a great place to count on a wonderful dining experience. Kudos to Jessie and the whole crew. We hope this gets posted in the break room to provide that extra spring in the step for all the hard work it takes to get a review like this from people that care about AND recognize what you do and how you do it. Thank you again and see...
