If I could give a zero star rating I would. I've been a loyal Haverty's customer to more than 20 years. In the past 2 years I've made purchases close to 20k from the Columbia Store and the quality of the furniture is not what is once was. More disappointing is the service I've received trying to get matters resolved. I have not written a review previously in hopes I could get matter resolved through the store or customer service. It's now been months and it's clear customer care for us is not the priority. The expensive Beauty Rest Black mattress I purchased was delivered with holes and damaged. Returned not problem. The replacement began and the tech who came write one report that completely conflicted his own words and nothing was done. I was told to resubmit another claim in 90 or 120 days. The sectional I ordered and waited weeks for arrived damaged. Was sent back and replacement arrived damaged. 3rd replacement came and within weeks had pieces sticking out and poor craftsmanship along the back. I opened another ticket and they said this massive amount of poor quality could be fixed in their shop. Havertys took the pieces to repair and few weeks later return and metal pieces were out again in matter of days. Had to exchange again for entirely different set and pay the difference which is outrageous in of itself. Also purchased with sectional were 2 custom motorized recliners. One stopped working 1 month after Havertys 1year warranty. I was sold a Guardsman ProtectionPlan. It took weeks to get the chair evaluated. This happened in June and we are being told the part is just being ordered August. We are not getting any answers other than "It's a Guardsman claim now. We paid for part and you will have to ask them why it taking so long ". My husband has been without a functioning chair and I'm back to waking up with pain from sleeping in...
Read moreBought a few furniture pieces from Haverty's back in 2019 so this review is coming very late. I do love our furniture, they are very nice looking and comfortable. Who says you can't have beauty, comfort, and practicality all wrapped up in one. The service was great from the moment we walked in. Great showroom, courteous and pleasant representatives, beautiful and comfortable pieces.
Now DO NOT purchase the protection plan from Guardsman. I repeat. DO. NOT. In fact, RUN from Guardsman. One of my couches has stains from my infant son spitting up on it. When we initially contacted Guardsman, they were responsive in what we needed to submit in order to have our claim processed. They sent a cleaning solution of maybe 1 oz for a surface area of say 10 sq feet. It was like water and did not make a dent on the stains. After following up with Guardsman, they suddenly became radio silent. We were initially told after 3 weeks that our case was still being reviewed. That was back in July of 2023 and it is now November 2023 and we still haven't heard back from them. Havertys has no power over Guardsman.
This is where I fault Havertys and other companies that use Guardsman or similar vendors. Please don't use/sell 3rd party products to your customers, if you cannot guarantee that the said 3rd party will honor the promises/sales pitch you give to your customers. Frankly it makes you look worse than the 3rd party vendors: knowingly or ignorantly offering false information to increase your...
Read moreHavertys Furniture quality and service is not worth the costs. I would have been better serviced in quality and expectation from Jordan’s Furniture, The Great American Home Store or even Wayfair - and for a much better price - than I’ve experienced with Havertys Furniture. Save your money, do right by your family and yourself - shop elsewhere!
I am a 175 lb man who has used my $3,500 Havertys Furniture swivel over the past 19 months as it was designed. Therefore, you might imagine my surprise and disappointment in the quality Havertys Furniture advertises when 2 of 4, 1-inch screws, that attach the swivel base to the frame, popped out as I sat in the swivel one day.
Havertys Furniture Customer Service Representative stated I am out outside of their 1-year warranty and that a Service Technician could be sent to my home for $99 to diagnose the issue and then inform me of the repair costs for parts and labor. When speaking to the Customer Service Supervisor I mentioned $99 is minuscule in comparison to the $3,500 I paid but out of principle I refuse to pay any additional costs. There was nothing more the Supervisor was willing to do other than empathize with me. It’s troubling to think I paid to be sorely disappointed. I expected better from Havertys Furniture -...
