I went here with a friend after seeing all the raving reviews and was very excited for the dining experience. Unfortunately, the service I received was not at all what I expected.
My party ordered sashimi, a specialty roll, and a few other menu items. Our sashimi came out quickly, however it took 40 minutes after receiving our other items for our roll to come out. I made eye contact with the waitress frequently throughout the meal to see if she'd inform us about any delays with our order, but never once did that happen. It wasn't until 35 minutes after we had waited that I finally waved her over to ask about our roll. She explained that the chefs were quite busy, however, the table behind us had ordered the same roll and received it within 5 minutes of ordering. She then proceeded to say, "Well, I can just take back the order if you don't want it anymore."
It appeared to me that she had made a mistake--either forgotten to place our order or given it to the incorrect table-- but did not want to acknowledge it or properly communicate that to us. After the roll came out, she avoided eye contact for the remainder of the meal as well as during check out.
If she had simply communicated to me about the delay OR apologized and accommodated as necessary, I would've been satisfied with our experience. However neither of these actions were taken. I don't often write reviews, but the encounter I had with our waitress this evening was unacceptable....
Read moreWe showed up later in the evening, and after being seated and getting drinks, I understand they were closing in 30 minutes by this point, but we were rushed every 2 minutes to get the order in and done. We had never been here before, so it took a while to look over the menu. When trying to choose which sushi rolls to get, we asked the waitress if any had "spicy tuna" or other shredded/ground fish in them, because we wouldn't want those ones. She checked over our order and said none would contain it. Surely enough, 2 of them came that way. Another one, we experimented in getting it, but didn't like it. I asked for one or two to be taken off since we had clearly asked beforehand. And when mentioning the other one we just didn't enjoy, we got "well thats what you ordered" - which I can completely understand that aspect, but due to the inconvenience of half of the order being directly what we asked beforehand to not get, we got, and the third one just wasnt great. In the end, they did take only 1 off the bill, but I feel more could've been done when the total spent even after that, was $130. Aside from this, the atmosphere of the place is nice, and they give really good candy gums after the meal. But being rushed, and having the order incorrect/messed up despite asking in advance, was far from ideal. The other rolls we got were great however, just make sure to know exactly what you're getting and if there's any issue, it'll be a struggle to get...
Read moreI took myself out for sushi because I had not eaten, and I was celebrating a big win. I had held off eating. So I was greeted nicely, very warmly. I was seated in a booth and promptly asked if I would like anything to drink. So I can put away a lot of food, especially when I have not eaten. And I ordered a lot, probably more than I needed to eat, but I didn’t really care because I was hungry. And celebrating. Well, the lady who took my order said, well, you’re hungry, huh? 😂 now I didn’t take that in the wrong way, but maybe somebody else would. So next time you might want to keep that observation to yourself, because you really don’t know what that person might be going through. In my case, I was happy, but sometimes people eat too much or they’re just really hungry, and it’s no one’s business, and no one should really comment on that. It just kind of rubbed me the wrong way a little bit, because it sounded judgmental . After I finished, and believe me, the food was outstanding, I was asked if I wanted a check. No one asked me if I wanted dessert. So I went somewhere else for dessert, but I would’ve liked to have felt welcome enough to order dessert there. I guess I had already eaten too much. Lol Anyway, you live, and you learn. I can tell you I’ve never had an owner or waitstaff ask me something like that. But I’m still giving you a five star review because everyone says something that could be taken the wrong way from...
