BLUF: I recommend for drinks and savory items. I do NOT recommend the cake. People were very nice - 5 stars Atmosphere was typical - 4 stars Coffee drinks - 5 stars Cake - 1 star I purchased one slice of the following cakes: Blueberry Cloud Green Tea Cream Mango Cloud Strawberry Cream
The icing texture for all cake is similar to "from scratch" whipped cream - no issues there. The issue with every slice was taste. The sugar content was spot on, not overly sweet where I thought I'd get a scolding from the dentist, it was perfect. The flavor profile in EVERY slice was disappointing. None of the cakes tasted like the fruit/tea they were named after. The taste in every one too light or non-existent. The Blueberry Cloud cake was only slightly better because it had a FEW blueberries in between the cake layer but it tasted more on the lemony side. Green Tea Cream was a beautiful color, the grape on the top was not needed, once again the flavor in the cake was lacking. I would not have guessed it was Green Tea and I very much like green tea. Mango Cloud cake was definitely at the bottom of the list for taste. If you have ever eaten a mango and enjoyed it, do NOT eat this cake. It tastes like regular white cake with whipped cream icing. The 1 small piece of mango in the filling between the layers was NOT enough to represent mango taste. Strawberry Cream cake had a very nice pink color, a few pieces of strawberry in the filling layers and that is where the positive ended. It does not taste like strawberry. It's tastes like sweetness, but not strawberry. The cakes were tasted by myself, one teen child, and husband. The teen and husband didn't know the cake/flavor names in advance. We tasted the cake, filling, and outer icing separately and then all together as one bite. They had no idea what flavor the Mango cake was were very unhappy to discover it was mango, a fruit they both enjoy. They thought the Blueberry Cloud cake was lemon with blueberry. The Strawberry Cream cake was guessed correctly based on the color and few strawberries in the filling, how they both said it didn't taste like a strawberry cake. Finally the Green Tea cake had them completely stumped. They said it had no overwhelming discerning taste and couldn't even begin to guess the flavor. Overall I would NOT suggest the cakes based on the cost ($6.50 per slice) and what you get regarding flavor. The place itself in terms of decor and "cafe" feeling is a long way from feeling cozy and encouraging people to just "chill" there.
The curry and kimchi croquettes are wonderful. I highly recommend both of them.
For sweets context I spend 7 years living in Europe and Asia. I have a big sweet tooth and don't mind spending money on high quality delicious desserts! We all work hard for our money, but I do not recommend spending money on the Tous less Jours cakes.
Bottomline: I do NOT...
Read moreIs Tous Les Jours a French Bakery? Not Quite--But Here's Why You Should Go Anyway!
When I saw the name Tous Les Jours and glimpsed a lineup of desserts, I thought, "Finally! A true French boulangerie to satisfy my cravings!" Sadly, it's not. Turns out, Tous Les Jours is a Korean bakery with French inspiration. As someone who lives for authentic French boulangeries, I was a little heartbroken--but not for long. Why? Because I also love Korean bakeries, and this one delivered!
The sheer variety was overwhelming (in the best way possible). There were so many tempting options, but I decided to play it safe for an early Saturday morning. My picks? A Guava Danish and a Cream Cheese Pastry/Pie/Tart hybrid--both were absolute showstoppers. The perfect balance of flaky, creamy, and sweet, these treats earned a spot on my "must-have-again" list.
One thing I wish they offered--or at least made more obvious--is the option to heat up their savory items. With goodies like meat-filled pastries and cheese-laden options, a little warmth would make a world of difference. To be fair, I didn't ask, so maybe it's something they can do--worth exploring next time!
The vibe of the bakery is bright, cozy, and not too crowded (at least during my visit). It seems like the perfect spot to grab a pastry, pop in some headphones, and tackle a to-do list while treating yourself.
Will I go back? Absolutely. While it's not the French boulangerie I initially dreamed of, it's a delightful cafe alternative with plenty of options for both sweet and savory cravings. Plus, that Guava Danish alone is worth a return trip.
If you're in the mood for something a little different but equally satisfying, Tous Les Jours is worth a visit. Just don't be like me--ask if they'll warm up...
Read moreToday was our first visit to Tous Les Jours. They had a good variety of pastries, savory snacks, and treats. We picked out about twenty dollars worth of cakes and snacks, including a croissant cookie—which was the worst item we tried. The cookie was burnt on the bottom and very hard, and the croissant was dry. I wouldn’t recommend it. I also had a small chocolate-filled donut that was decent, about a six out of ten. We haven’t tried some of the other items yet.
We spent fourteen dollars on two sixteen-ounce lattes: a hot tiramisu latte with extra sweetness and an iced tiramisu matcha latte. We tried each other’s drinks, and both lacked flavor. The matcha was okay, but my tiramisu latte didn’t taste much like tiramisu.
Customer service was friendly, and although the store was crowded with limited seating, we were lucky to get a spot while waiting for our drinks.
Overall, I might return to try other items but would avoid the croissant cookie and tiramisu...
