Summary: This was the most surreal restaurant experience of my entire life. If I hadn't had my wife and two kids with me, I would be questioning my sanity.
Prologue: We were on a quest to find a working milkshake machine as my son had just suffered a facial injury and didn't want to try to chew anything. This Arby's was our 3rd attempt to find something he could eat (aka Plan C).
What happened: We pulled up to the Drive Thru (at 6:47pm according to my Google Timeline) and were welcomed and told we could place our order at any time. We immediately placed our order, since we knew what we wanted, and got a "Thank you" and some other pleasantries that suddenly cut off (first clue of strangeness). We waited....and waited some more for further acknowledgement and a request to "pull forward", but it never came. So, we pulled forward to the window. When we got to the window, it was strangely darker than expected inside and the computer terminals all read "No orders", which was also very strange. We waited more. We wondered out loud about the safety of the workers. We decided to call the restaurant on the phone - we got a "this voicemail box not setup" message. Then, we pulled back around to the Drive Thru and were greeted by an automated message of the effect of: "This location is closed, please visit again during operating hours". Given no further alternatives, we moved on to "Plan D". This concludes the tale of our very very bizarre Arby's experience!
I've attached what Google Timeline logged as our arrival and departure time. My son was really hoping for a Jamocha shake, but settled with McD's (Plan D for the win!)...
TL;DR: We didn't get roast beef and milkshakes, but got a very strange story to tell about a fast food place that apparently closed in the middle of taking...

If 2 beef & cheddar sandwiches pop up on your screen (1 for drive through & 1 for the counter to go) you make them at the same time. You don't make the first one and hand it to the drive through, then make the counter wait for the second one to be made.
I don't like the trend of asking a person's name for each order, wasted time asking, saying, and typing the name, adds up over the course of lunch. Automate your system to kick out order numbers.
Once my sandwich is made the manager shouldn't delay bagging it up & handing it to me, at least not for casual conversation. The order was complete and it sat while they casually conversated; bagging it up & handing it to me when they felt like it.
Managers should be professional, use proper grammar, and not be chewing out employees for messing up a sandwich 4 orders ago.
Food was good, and tends to be good each time. There is at least one girl there that seems to be a manager that is good. The store as a whole does need...
Read moreQuite possibly the WORST MANAGED Arby's in Ohio. I'm a door dasher and have given them many chances to get better, but I've given up at this point. I've accepted 3 orders from this location over the past few weeks and have had to "unassign" all three of them. Why? Because apparently they can't find enough employees to work to even have NORMAL business hours EVER! The dining room door is always locked (even at 2:00 p.m.) with cars stacked 8-10 deep in the drive-thru which moves at a snail's pace. If the door is ever open, I don't know what time that would be. Actually, I'm not even sure what their hours of operation are anymore. I guess they open and close whenever they want. I can't afford to sit in the drive-thru that long to make it worth my time. It's a shame, too, because every time I have personally eaten there the food is usually excellent. IF YOU ARE A DOORDASHER I WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST ACCEPTING ANY ORDERS FROM THIS LOCATION!!! I know I...
