Brew-Stirs Clintonville Tavern — Restaurant in Columbus

Used to go here regularly but while it is at first glance a fun dive bar, upon closer inspection it doesn't hold up all that well. In the years I went there, it had a persistent odor that we always described as "urinal cakes". The dartboard and pool tables are right near the front entrance and people coming in and out the front door to smoke will constantly interrupt your games. The back patio area has been improved but it is also the only Clintonville bar that my friends and I also got in a bar fight at, through no provocation of our own. Not a terrible bar but there are better options...

This is my Cheers! Ever since moving to the area six years ago, my friends and I come here, regularly, on Fridays and Saturdays. I can even go by myself and have a great time talking to random people and playing some darts or pool. Bartenders are the best and the owner/manager are top notch.

The best part of the year is fall because of Ohio State games! A great sense of community cheering for the buckeyes with free hamburgers/hot dogs and sides (bringing a side dish is encouraged).

Not trendy, not for hipsters, just a great...

It's a dive bar with good drink prices. Don't go expecting a list of house specialty cocktails. There are a lot of neighborhood regulars. The first time you stop in, you'll feel like you walked into a private party (or it may be empty). The people are nice and always willing to make a new friend if you want to mingle.
