Cup O Joe Coffee House — Restaurant in Columbus

I don't normally write negative reviews but I had to this time. I grew up in Clintonville going to Cup O Joe. Now I live in Clintonville and have been a regular because it's so close. In the mornings for the past year now the staff has been oddly antagonistic, off-putting, and delivers exceptionally poor customer service to me and those ordering before me. Today, like so many other days, I got to the register and the staff didn't say anything. I placed my order and gave them my sleeve for a punch which upset them for some reason. The only thing they said to me was my total. I paid and moved to the end to join others waiting for their orders. They didn't announce any orders including mine. They just put them on the end with other orders and walked away which is typical of my experience. When I got home my coffee was weak and my bagel was both stale and toasted to oblivion. I have had more bad experiences like this than good experiences over the past year. The morning staff's attitude and service is deplorable and completely unacceptable by any retail standards. I know for a fact I'm not the only one who has experienced this nor the only one who has said something to them. To start, I really love this coffee shop. I work down the street so I have been coming here often for the past almost 2 years. The place is very cozy and cute, it’s decorated with plants and a lil TV with a VHS player. The entire year and a half that I have been coming here, I order the same coffee drink (white chocolate mocha) which is usually made correctly. Unfortunately, the other day I came in and the drink was made wrong, and thats fine, stuff happens because we are human. I spoke up and the gentleman insisted that it was the correct drink. My order is usually bright brown but this time it was dark. I tasted it and it definitely was not the correct drink, but it wasn’t bad so I took it. I came in today to place the same order and the order was correct this time, but for some reason the gentleman making my order kept looking at me and shaking his head saying “unbelievable”. He seemed to be very upset with having to make my order. I thanked him for the order when he called it out and no response. I’m very disappointed with the way I’m treated sometimes when I come into this cafe. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. I used to really enjoy coming to this Cup O'Joe. Over the last year or two it has gone downhill. The coffees are good, the service is spotty depending on who is behind the counter. A few of the good ones left and some of the newer employees are indifferent to service. Prices on drinks is at times inconsistent depending on who is behind the counter. Some days tax is charged, some days not. One reviewer wrote that the place is filthy which is no exaggeration. Then there's the wireless network. I can go to any Starbucks in town and connect effortlessly and remain connected. Not so at this Cup O' Joe. The wireless network is atrocious. As I'm writing this now the network disappeared and with luck will reconnect in a few minutes. I'm really disappointed in the current status of this establishment, it's as if they have taken their customers for granted.
