By far my favorite hotel to stay at ✨🔥 #columbusohio #marriott #osugame #shuttle #views

My fiance and i checked in fine. I asked about adding on club lounge access and it was highly recommended as it would save us money from going and eating anywhere else and the food was apparently very good and there are appetizers. With that being said we got it. We tried to get into then lounge but our key didnt work. I had to go down and get another set of keys. I also asked about upgrading our room and there was nothing available till tomorrow. I asked if we could put like a hold on the room so we can be sure to get the room and was told no. I spoke with ben about it a little later and he was able to put the hold on the room and guarentee it for me. We go to our room and it looked nice and clean until i looked at the bed. I found stains and hair on the pillows. I called down and let the front desk know and they said they would have someone change my pillows immediately. I waited an hour and nobody came. I called again and they paged housekeeping again and 20 minutes later i finally got new pillow cases. I go to lay down a towel to shower and i found a good amount of long hair on the towel when i opened it. Pictured below is the pillow cases and the hair. Next we go to the lounge to find the two days we are staying there are no appetizers. So i paid 35$ to have some water and pop..... next morning we go to have the breakfast. Pictured below you can see the sausage was wrinkled and dead looking and half hollow. It was not good or appetizing. The only warm food was eggs bacon and that sausage. Needless to say also not worth 35 dollars for a total of 70$. When i went to go get my new keys for my upgraded room i was told i needed my id. I went all the way back to my room.to get it and had to get back in line and then the person who helped me didnt even ask for my ID. I. Ormally love atsying with marriot but i was very unhappy with my stay this time around.

Extremely Disappointing Experience #1. Dirty Bedding / Allergic Reaction I have a dust allergy, and after lying on the bed for just 10 minutes, I developed bumps along the side of my waist. Once I requested a new sheet, the reaction stopped. The photo I’ve included shows my skin after the irritation had already started to calm down. I’ve stayed in many hotels for both work and family trips, and this kind of issue has only happened a few times in my life — and those were at regular, lower-end hotels, not a high-end brand like Marriott. It was very disappointing to encounter dirty bedding at a hotel of this reputation. #2. Broken Shower Handle The shower handle was broken. When I turned on the water, it sprayed uncontrollably because the sink blocked one side of the space. Later that night, I just wanted to rinse off my feet, but the handle was completely unusable. #3. Dusty Air Filter The air filter was visibly caked with dust — clearly neglected and unhygienic. #4. Uncomfortable Air Conditioning The air conditioning vent blew cold air directly onto the bed where we put our head . It was so uncomfortable that we had to reposition ourselves near the TV just to avoid the constant draft. #5. Overcrowded and Poor Pool Conditions The swimming pool was far too small for the size of the hotel and extremely overcrowded. Children were constantly bumping into each other, parents were visibly frustrated, and many guests simply left. #6. Poor Pool Water Quality To make matters worse, the pool water was dark you couldn’t even see your feet underwater. It was also unusually salty, with no signage showing when the water was last tested. Every Hilton we’ve visited posts clear notices about pool maintenance and water quality checks. That kind of basic transparency was completely missing here.

For a Marriott Hotel, I expected a lot more. I’m going to give a fair list of Pro’s and Cons’s

Pros

Hotel is beautiful, truly feels like your classic Marriott hotel. Very modern and updated, lobby furniture is comfortable and lots of plugs.

Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Nothing felt like a hassle or like we were wrong for asking a question, they were fantastic!

-Rooms were clean and well kept upon arrival

-Pool was Heated

-Fitness center had fresh water and had a decent amount of machines

Now for cons which unfortunately there are more than pros, in order from least importance to most importance.

Cons

-There was no microwave in the rooms. Not a big deal but if you’ve already had a shower and you’re in your pj’s, it’s kind of a hassle to put on some sweatpants or a jacket to walk all the way downstairs to the lobby, make your food, and then take it back up. At that point it’s not even really hot anymore.

-Despite the pool being heated, the AC was blowing in the room with the pool which made it kind of cold despite the water being warm

-Pool was very small. I understand this is more of a “conference” hotel but for a hotel of that size, it should have most definitely been larger

-There was no Jacuzzi/Hot tub. It’s like they think corporate people don’t like to sit back and relax either, I was very disappointed about that.

-I didn’t expect complimentary breakfast but holy cow it was $12.95 per person if you wanted it. And it wasn’t made to order. You could walk next door to Bob Evan’s and get a made to order breakfast for about the same price or about $2 more.

The shower head had very low water pressure. Thankfully my father was traveling with me and was able to tighten it and fix it but if it had just been me I would not have been able to reach it or known to fix it like that.

-The bathroom door is a sliding glass barn door. While it looks cool and is nice, since there is no real door, you can hear everything from the bathroom in the room……

-The hotel is very large and the lack of signage makes it very confusing! They need to hand out a little map to everyone when they check in. I know many people who got a lost in these combined hotels on this trip. Even the elevators were confusing cause they all have weird quirks to them.

-In order to get daily housekeeping you have to call down to the front desk and “request” it. This doesn’t necessarily bother me as they may not have enough resources to clean everybody’s room everyday. However if you are someone that wants fresh towels each day you need to request housekeeping. What DID bother me is that no one had informed us at check in or any other point that we had to call down and request daily housekeeping. Once again, my issue isn’t having to request it, it’s that no one let us know we had to request it in order to receive the service. Towards the end of the first day we called to the front desk and asked why there hadn’t been any housekeeping that came by and that’s when they informed us- and put us down for daily housekeeping after that.

-This is my biggest grievance. The temperature and climate in the rooms is out of control. The room was literally humid. Like the air was thick and damp. Made it very hard to sleep. The only thing that kind of helped the humidity in the room was turning the air on but oh my gosh it was freezing! There’s only two settings for the AC and the one that blew the air less made the room extremely humid and the other blew freezing cold air on your face the whole night, no matter which way you turned the vents. We even tried adjusting the temperature and turning off the fan but it didn’t do much. Ultimately left with a choice of freeze or struggle to breathe. Absolutely horrible. It was not just our room. We traveled in a very large party and everyone else said the same thing. I literally asked everyone in our party- no joke.

I’m giving it a solid 3 out of 5. For a “luxury” brand it was not a “luxury” experienced but it could have been much worse. I would not stay here again...

I gave the hotel "good" overall and cleanliness. Outside, in the common areas and restaurant the cleanliness was excellent. We had two rooms and one of them was fine. With the exception of the following everything else at the hotel was great. And the following could happen anywhere with and brand of hotel.

We checked in late on the July 12. The person I was sharing the room with went right to bed. I begin to unpack my things and when I went into the bathroom realized the floor had not been swept from the previous stay. There was lots of long hair. I called the front desk to ask for a broom. They offered to have someone sweep but I told them I would do it, I just needed a broom. They brought one and I swept the bathroom and then decided to check the main room’s floor. With the floor being dark and dim lighting at night made it hard to tell if it needed it. After a few pushes of the broom there was no doubt it need it and I swept it all. Everything else seem to be fine.

Then next morning (July 13) my roommate was using one of the glasses from beside the ice bucket and realized it had lipstick on it. He set it on the refrigerator and got the other one. When we returned that evening the glass with the lipstick had been placed back by the ice bucket. I moved it into the bathroom and when we returned to the room late the following evening (July 14) it had again been placed back by the ice bucket. The next morning (July 15) on our way out for the day I took the glass to the front desk. The kind lady was very apologetic and gave me two $10 off cards for food in the restaurant and asked if we were headed out for the day. I said yes and said she would send someone up to see that the room was cleaned. That evening when we returned the beds had been made but the glass had not been replaced. When I went to the deck the following morning (July 16) to check out and get a copy of our receipts the same lady was there and asked about the room. I told her the glass had not been replaced and she apologized and we sort of joked about it. It not that there was just a little bit of lipstick on the glass but lot. I have a photo of it. I understand lipstick may not come off when washed but putting a glass back in its place not once but twice it absurd. I have heard storied about glasses not be cleaned or just washed out in the bathroom sink but this the first time I have experienced such. From now on I will always be leery of non-disposable glasses in...

Came up in April to book & pre-pay only to find out when we got here that it hadn't been processed & we again had to produce the same card we put it on to begin with & we were then told breakfastis available until 10am...when we tried to purchase a pop from the concession, my husband had a $50 on him & the front desk, nor the bar (which was packed as it was the night before the Buckeye Country Superfest) couldn't make change for him. Once we finally get upstairs, bed was soo low to the floor, mattress was horrible, you could feel the springs through it & the couch was actually more comfortable than the bed. We didn't have any washclothes, so we had to ask for them. The fridge wasn't even turned on, we had to figure that out. We understand that the place was fully booked, but considering the location, I'm sure that being fully out is a frequent occurrence...there is no excuse for the bedding to be subpar for a $499/night room. There is mold on the ceiling in the shower room.

On our 3rd night we stopped at the front desk for some more toilet paper as we were getting low & there wasn't any extra in the room & the guy at the front desk looked at us as if we had asked for TP during Covid Days. He said he'd have to look for some, and send it up to our room...20 minutes later...still no TP. We called down thinking that maybe they forgot & he said he was still looking for it. We also asked for some towels when they came up. They brought us handtowels....just handtowels...SMH. Fast forward to this morning, it is Monday, we get up get semi ready & head downstairs at 945am, to be told there was no breakfast & that it was over at 930am. The lady cleaning up the area just held up a sign...yes it did say that it was only until 930am on Mondays, but no one stated that upon check in. So...since we had not gotten breakfast on Sat nor Sun morning, because we didn't get out of bed until closer to 11am. How were we to know that breakfast...
