I eat biriyani almost every other week so I was excited to see a new biriyani restaurant open up in the Polaris area. I ordered their house special chicken biriyani and their goat kebab. The biriyani I ordered was great with tender pieces of chicken and the spice level was on point.
The service, however, was disappointing. I placed the pickup order online but when I got there 45 minutes later, I was told that the kebabs would take longer to cook so it would be another 20 minutes. 20 minutes later, I returned and was told that they ran out of goat. Why didn't they just tell me when I first got there? I opted for a refund but they refunded me the wrong amount too 🤦🏻
The food was honestly great but it's hard to say if I'd return with all the options in the area (Dawaat, Hyderabad House, Spice9, to name a few).
Update (9/18): Decided to give this place 2 more chances in the past month and end up being disappointed each time. First time back, I ordered a Mutton Fry Biriyani and it was salty beyond belief. It was like eating straight up spoonfuls of salt. Second time back today, they forgot to make one of our orders and we again had to wait even though placing the order an hour ahead of time. I've given this restaurant more than enough chances so I won't be back unless they make some...
Read moreI ordered chicken fry piece biryani and kheema biryani from your restaurant. However, what I received was nothing more than basic fried rice with chicken and fried rice with kheema - not the biryani I paid for. The quality was absolutely terrible. The kheema was of poor quality, and the rice was spoiled and began emitting a foul smell immediately after eating.
I called your restaurant immediately to report this issue and explain the situation. Your staff initially agreed to provide a full refund for both items. However, when I called back to follow up, I was told that you would only refund one biryani. When I explained that the other biryani was also spoiled and inedible, your staff member agreed to refund both items.
Despite these assurances, I have not received any refund. I have now called your restaurant three times with no resolution and no response to my legitimate complaint.
This has been the worst experience I have ever had. The food quality was unacceptable, the service was misleading, and your customer service has been completely unprofessional. I cannot recommend your restaurant to anyone.
I expect immediate action to resolve this matter and process the full refund for both items as promised...
Read moreI recently dined at House of Biryani and Kebab, while the food and service were decent, I was disappointed by their unfair and inconsistent gratuity policy. Typically, automatic gratuity is added for parties of six or more, which is standard practice. However, our group of four was charged an automatic gratuity without any prior notice, despite being smaller than that threshold.
When we questioned this, the server seemed unsure and directed us to management. Surprisingly, they claimed the automatic gratuity was based on the time (more than 90 mins) rather than the number of people—which made no sense. To make matters worse, our bill explicitly stated that gratuity was applied for parties of six or more, contradicting what management told us.
While I always tip generously for good service, I don’t appreciate being forced into it without transparency. A restaurant should be upfront about additional charges rather than surprising customers when the bill arrives. Unfortunately, this dishonesty left a sour taste in what could have been an otherwise enjoyable meal.
Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.
Final Verdict: Check your bill carefully...
