I went for a late Lunch buffet last week and food was good. The bread however was really chewy and very difficult to eat. I thought of requesting owner to get a fresh bread if possible. That's when I saw another gentleman ready to pay was being asked about feedback. The person politely said everything was great but bread could be served hot (same thing coming from me next). Upon receiving the constructive feedback, the owner lady got very defensive and started arguing and insulting the gentleman in front of me and some other person. I could see the patron trying to avoid the argument and not willing to engage, but the owner would not stop and provide all reasons instead of accepting feedback as a Gift. I was definitely scared after listening to the behavior by staff and decided to skip any feedback and get out from the place. Surprisingly a third guy who was there for a To-Go made request for fresh bread and he got it while i finished my lunch. With the argument and attitude I had seen from owner lady, I definitely think this way of treating customers having feedback is not sustainable. The Restaurant will either stay the same or will go down eventually. I will also highly question the ratings of the restaurant as I see some of the reviews coming from owners and people in India who do not have any other US review. Again, food is mostly good except freshness of bread. Less spicy to suit Americans like me. Owner's attitude needs a change. I am surprised the person who was insulted did not post a one...
Read moreMasala Magic is a refreshingly different Indian restaurant. Although the menu items are similar to other Indian restaurants, there are some special differences. We were greeted and seated very quickly. We were served ice water (it’s unusual to have ice in an Indian restaurant) and were given a large bottle of cold water from which we could refill our glasses. The Indian background music was a little jazzier, a little more percussive than the usual Bollywood music. We have had both their samosas and Pokoras. They are served with mint and tamarind chutney, both of which are excellent. The tamarind chutney is more tangy than sweet, The best I’ve had.. Sadly, like many Indian restaurants these days, they do not offer onion chutney. I often order Baingan Bahrta. Theirs is spiced a little differently from others, but very good. I love that they have south Indian food on the menu also. I haven’t tried it, but intend to soon. One Warning note for anyone who has a sensitive mouth as I do, even the mild has left my mouth burning uncomfortably. Ordering a side of raita Is helpful. My husband and I intend to return often and hope...
Read moreWe thought we'd try here for a change whilst in the area. Having already visited Apna this week.
Atmosphere seemed good when we arrived. They were doing buffet but we ordered from the menu. Everyone else seemed to be having the buffet.
Service was crazy slow. Drinks took a while to arrive. We placed our food order and mine arrived first, my sons followed 5 mins later and then we waited for my husband's. After almost 15 minutes I waved the server over to ask where his food was and the 3 orders of Nana's. I had almost finished and was eating slow so we could eat together.
A family meal should be just that, eating together. For me that ruins the experience.
Food was disappointing. I'm surprised at other reviews saying this is amazing. It wasn't, no depth of flavor, no spice ( even when my husband said he liked spice and medium was fine). It just came up short of every aspect...food...
