I'm temporarily in town for work, so naturally, I'm on the prowl for anything but hot dogs, hamburgers, and pizza. I know, I'm unpatriotic. My instincts kick in and my fingers start to slide across my keyboard. Next thing I know, I've typed in " Indian cuisine". *BOOM* Saffron pulls up. I look at the menu and and tell my coworker that dinner is on me. Of course, there's no objection. I continue on to order a universal crowd pleaser. Tikka Masala. Then, my favorite, Saag Paneer. Finally, something I've never had, Korma Curry. Extra rice is a must. I also order a " Thumbs Up" soda, which I was utterly pleased with. I don't normally go for the larger restaurants, but this one had delivery with Door Dash. I can't speak for the atmosphere, but the quality and timeliness definitely factor in to 5 stars.

WOW!! Me and my husband obsess over Indian food. We experiment cooking it at home and have gone to numerous places to find our favorite spot. Our previous favorite was MASTI in Atlanta. However… last night we looked at each other and admitted THIS is our new favorite spot. There is only one other place out of the country that I think comes close to how good this place is. The menu is very clear and descriptive of dishes if you are new to the cuisine. The food is creamy, fresh and expertly made. The selection of naan is outrageous and exciting. The amount of food they give you is generous. The inside of the restaurant is clean and brand new. I can’t stop singing praises for this place, and can’t wait to take all my friends. THANK YOU SAFFRON FOR BEING IN COLUMBUS!!!!

The staff and owner made us feel right at home. We're a large group and our kids received so much positivity. The food was on par. Worth every penny. Andhra curry is one of the spicier and authentic menu options. The heat level marries the warm spices and flavor perfectly. Lamb was perfectly tender and fit in the sauce well. The Indian salad was crunchy, fresh, and paired perfect with the curry. I drizzled the green dipping sauce from my samosas (also perfectly crispy and seasoned well) and the ranch that came with the salad over the salad together (a suggestion from the owner). Stellar! We got much more but that's enough to say for now. I'd have sat down all day to try everything on the menu. Come on down.

I ordered takeout since they closed the kitchen at 9 pm even though google says the restaurant closes at 9.30. My arrival time was around 9.10 and asked if I could dine in and they refused. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and there were many empty tables. I requested them if I could just eat the food that I bought inside since it was raining heavily outside and I had a 9 month old baby and my 70 year old grandmother and my parents with me. I was traveling and didn't have any place to eat. The guy at the cash counter was very rude about it as well. To top all that they have an online menu and I placed the orders looking at that. After going to the restaurant they overcharged me for every single item I have ordered. When I asked about the extra charge, the cashier said that he can't do anything about it and he is correct from his pov which baffled me. After 10 minutes of arguing back and forth, he agreed to call his owner and he would let me talk to him. But, after calling he wouldn't let me talk to the owner and was showing disrespectful hand gestures telling me shut up which made me so angry and enraged. The gave me the $8 back that they overcharged in cash after almost 15 minutes of arguing. Coming to the food, I have ordered butter naan, Mysore masala dosa, kadai chicken and onion uthappam. The dosas were very rubbery and tasted like it was made from old batter and we had to throw half of it away. The sambar and chutney were very mediocre tasting and insufficient. The naans were good, but the kadai chicken tasted like it had a little too much turmeric and masala tasted raw. Overall a very bad experience and I regret going to this "Indian" restaurant especially with my parents and my grandma. I would give this place negative rating...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Saffron, our local Indian restaurant, and I must say, it was an absolute delight for the senses! From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of exceptional.

First and foremost, the food at Saffron is simply outstanding. Each dish was crafted with utmost care and precision, showcasing the vibrant flavors and spices that make Indian cuisine so special. The menu offers a wide range of options, ensuring there’s something to satisfy every palate. Whether you’re a fan of flavorful curries, aromatic biryanis, or delectable tandoori delights, Saffron has it all.

What truly sets Saffron apart is the remarkable quality of their ingredients. Every bite was a burst of authentic flavors that transported me to the streets of India. The spices were perfectly balanced, allowing the true essence of each dish to shine through. It’s evident that the talented chefs at Saffron take great pride in their craft, and their dedication to delivering an extraordinary culinary experience is palpable.

The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, creating a comfortable and cozy atmosphere for a memorable dining experience. The staff at Saffron deserves special mention for their attentive and friendly service. They were knowledgeable about the menu, eager to answer any questions, and went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was top-notch.

Overall, I can confidently say that Saffron is a hidden gem in Columbus, Georgia. If you’re searching for the best Indian food in town, look no further. This restaurant is perfect for a Date night & something completely different from your standard steakhouse, buffet, or country fixings. I love how bright, clean, an open the restaurant is. It was fun to watch some Bollywood style entertainment on the TV's. The staff, the gentlemen working there have always been so friendly to us & helpful. Genuinely nice. The food is so flavorful. It is not at all bland. Though for my taste palate, mild is the way to go. I would advise new folks to Saffron or Indian cuisine to start out at the Mild level. The entree portions are large enough to share or take home. I recently went and ventured with a new dish called Dum Chicken apart of the Biryani section of the menu. Pretty much multifaceted yellow rice(YUM) with 2chicken legs & thighs hidden(buried in the rice bowl). Not my normal pieces I like, though these were fall off the bone tender. I also enjoy the Coconut Curry. I highly advise going during the week for lunch because it is buffet style and you can explore many menu options. Allows for you to see what's ok and what you Really like. At dinner time, its straight off the menu. We will definitely return as we have...
