I called multiple places to find help for my Mac. The guy reassured me that they had experience with Macs, so I took it in on Monday. He asked what was wrong, and I told him that a folder with a question mark was coming up on a black screen. He said they can't guarantee anything, but that, but they would work on it and call me. I didn't hear anything and called on Wednesday and the guy had to call me back. When he did call me he said they were in the process of moving the data and would call me when it was done and to discuss the next steps. Then I get an email on Thursday saying they were not able to transfer any data and needed to contact "a guy" to see if he could figure out how to fix it. This makes me question if they had even looked at it on Wednesday because he made it sound like it was working. I called and asked what the timeline looked like and he said he had to take pictures and send it to this guy they work with to see if he knew the problem. I told them I was going to come get it because I didn't like that hey were taking the problem out of house or that no timeline could be provided. When I picked it up I was charged 50$ because they "spent time on it." I took it to another location and the lady plugged it in and immediately told me that the folder that showed up was an indicator of a crashed and irretrievable drive, but that they would attempt to fix the problem, but it wasn't promising. Technology unlimited obviously doesn't have the knowledge or experience necessary to work with Macs and should have been more upfront with how they handled issues with Macs. I wish I would have went to the other place first and not wasted a week...
Read moreI went here for a screen replacement for my HP envy x360 laptop. The staff was very nice and helpful when collecting my information. However, I die experience an issue following repair. I initially paid for a new screen and the labor to have it installed. I thought all went well during the repair process, just to find out a week later that they did not connect my webcam to the newly installed screen. I was pretty upset to discover this, in that I came across this a few minutes before Starting an online exam (that required a webcam). Luckily, I had a spare computer with me. If you get your screen replaced, I would recommend asking to check it ALL out before leaving the building. The staff was very apologetic and thankfully gave me a small amazon gift card for my inconvenience. Unfortunately, this business was out of my way (20 minutes from my home), and it seemed to be a hassle to drive back and forth to check on...
Read moreI had taken my computer there before and had had a great experience, which led me to decide to take it in for a repair again. However, I am sad to report that this time the service was appalling. I dropped off my laptop on a Wednesday and after a week and still no concrete information about when it would be repaired or even a specific diagnosis, I decided to get my computer back. I was told that I could get it right away but would have to wait on a refund.
They should not take on new work if they are not able to manage the flow and they should not give clients the roundabout or wait for a refund when nothing was done for over a week.
If you have plenty of time to wait and you do not mind having to make multiple calls to ask about your computer, this might be an ok place for you. Otherwise, do not take your computer there--unless or until they get their house...
