We always LOVE the food, but absolutely HATE the napkins. They are the most RIDICULOUS napkins I have ever seen a restaurant use. I typically use 1, maybe 2 napkins (if my food is particularly messy). I kept track at Seitan's Realm this time, and I used 18 (yes, you read that right!) napkins. The napkins are EXTREMELY POOR QUALITY. If you bought just slightly more expensive napkins, you could save substantially on the number of them your customers have to go through and improve our overall experience. This is not new at Seitan's Realm - these are the napkins they have every single time we go there.
Second issue - I was SO excited that you got a soft serve machine - yeah! However, right after we got there, more than an hour before you closed, they came around and told us that they were closing down the soft serve machine, so if you wanted ice cream you had to order it right away. I was so excited to try it that I went aheadand ordered a cone even though we didn't have our food yet. I was a little shocked that it cost $5 for a cone, but willing to pay that if it was good soft serve. Spoiler alert - it wasn't. I got a chocolate/vanilla twist cone. The vanilla had zero flavor, the chocolate was slightly better. I don't recommend the ice cream AT ALL.
Final issue. We got the "loaded fries" which cost $11. What we received was an order of overcooked fries with a drizzle of cheese, a drizzle of your cream, and a few chopped up pieces of "bakun". This was not our first time ordering these, but it might be our last. When you advertise "loaded" there need to be actual toppings on the fries and the fries themselves shouldn't be overcooked. Even our sandwich - the Notorious B.B.Q. was skimpy. We have ordered both of these items many times and this was by far the least well executed we...
Read moreSome things are great but some are a miss. The worst part is the cheese they add to everything. It is so sticky and they put on so much. I ordered a burger today and cheese was leaking out of the box the bottom of the bun completely covered in cheese on the bottom. In my opinion it isn’t good and it is on everything even the mcfibble which is a pancake breakfast sandwich. Usually I order the food without the cheese but sometimes I miss that it is on the item or don’t order it for a while and forget they cover it in the cheese. They recently rolled out milkshakes which I got twice and the first time it was thick and delicious and the second time it was thin and filled 1/4 of the way with whip cream which I thought wasn’t worth the cost especially compared to my first shake which was great. They have some Korean BBQ items sometimes are specials and are just taste salty so if you see them I recommend not getting that item ever. My final complaint is their cake slices which I think have been hit by inflation. Last year they took up the whole plastic container and now they are a fraction of the size. I’m not sure if they are just trying to get another slice from the cakes or what but knowing what they were and what they are now is super disappointing and not worth the cost anymore. I want to love this place and honestly spend too much money here but after today I am rethinking it as more times recently I have been disappointed more often and regretted spending so much here because of it. If it was a hit every time and I could count on it being good and quality then I’d...
Read moreAfter losing our beloved favorite local vegan restaurant, my partner and I are always on the hunt for some delicious vegan comfort food wherever we travel. We live in the Metro Detroit-area, but on a day trip down to Columbus, we came across Seitan's Realm. After a quick glance at the menu after a long day on 1/4/24, we decided to give it a try, and it was EXACTLY what we needed to refuel for the 4-hour drive home. Every single item on the menu looked delicious — so much so that we needed some extra time to decide what we wanted to eat. We both ordered the Dude Ranch chikun sandwich, and we split an order of the seasoned curly fries. When we inquired about allergen information, we were absolutely delighted when the employee helping us pulled out a binder to show us each item's ingredients, detailed with allergen information so we could ensure that everything we ordered was safe for our specific needs. When we started eating, I'm pretty sure the first thing out of my mouth after the first bite was: "Oh my god, this is AMAZING." Every bite was absolutely delicious. The decor of the restaurant was super cool, too. (Special shoutout to Dolly Parton behind the register.) We interacted with a few employees, and every single person was so kind. Although this restaurant is too far for regular visits, we will absolutely be returning any time we find ourselves in Columbus. (And if y'all ever want to open a second location up in southeastern Michigan, just know that we'd be there...
