Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Columbus

This is my first time going to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe. I was first introduced to this establishment by a friend of mine whose daughter was working there and she told me to try it. I was traveling with my daughter running some errands it was really hot over the weekend and I was starting to not feel so good but I knew I wanted something to eat and drink but I didn't want it to be unhealthy or I would feel even worse. So I was looking up healthy places/smoothie places we really didn't want to go to my other typical places in tropical smoothie ran in my head so I drove to the one in Gahanna and I pulled up and like I said I wasn't feeling so hot so I just ask the server hey what do you suggest for me to drink and she said they're like a mango something drink that was a special and she said her regular menu was a sun rise sun set and I took that and then ask her okay what should I try to eat and she gave me a few options but the one that really stuck out to me what a Thai chicken wrap I love Thai food peanut sauce it's a go and it's warm so I got that me and my daughter split it it was absolutely amazing fresh and then she said your wrap comes with the side and would like an apple banana something else so I picked a banana.. Pretty cool healthy food fresh food healthy sides that was really awesome and I felt good I felt I wasn't a tire drain because of the heat I feel like I got replenished but it wasn't unhealthy replenishment it was a really good day so I will be back no pictures but I will do that next time I add LOL but right out smoothie place that serves really good food healthy sides can't go wrong with that. We need more places like this to combat the diabetes high blood pressure obesity and other illnesses that are associated with unhealthy eating and drinking so eat up drink up live long enjoy! I love the food and smoothies here. I'm a successful black woman, I like to support any business that owned or hire the youth of my culture. I like to bless them with money and /or opportunities. I have a very big social media platform in which I post a lot of that content. I wanted to bless one of the employees. I went through the drive-thru and ordered. I'm not sure what I did or what I said but when I pulled around there were 2 young ladies' heads protruding out the window staring at me looking angry. I was confused but I said hello and handed them my card. They took my card shut the window without a word and proceeded to speak about me like I couldn't hear them. In my mind, I'm (I'm filming everything) thinking I wanted to bless one of these young ladies and their behavior is disgusting. I was shocked. When one of the young ladies came back with my card and food I tried to tell her that if I had spoken in a tone or way that offended them I apologize. I'm at least 15 years her senior, I have a child and I understand the raging hormones and young adult feelings.. However, she didn't look at me and continued to have a conversation about me with someone behind her and closed the window. I was shocked but that's how you miss out on your blessings. Everyone isn't your enemy young lady. I won't come back nor will I upload the video. I understand life can be cruel and unfair but every day you have to wake up and put your best foot forward. Changed my 5* review as this place is rapidly going downhill. When the food is good, it's really good. I order here often and can't say that it's been good for at least the last 9-12 months. Also, beware ordering delivery from their app. If anything goes wrong with your order, neither the restaurant or doordash assumes liability. In my case, I ordered 6 breakfast wraps and 4 smoothies to be delivered for my kids and the sitter to have breakfast on Christmas Eve while I was out finishing my Christmas shopping. Only the smoothies were delivered, no food. I called the restaurant and they said to contact doordash. Doordash said that since it was through TS app and not actually through DD that they couldn't do anything for me either. I called the restaurant back and explained this, and they said they would investigate and call me back. Long story short, I never received a call back, my kids never got their sandwiches, and I canceled my doordash subscription. I lived in Florida where I was first introduced to Tropical Smoothie and fell in love. I think I'll just save it for a treat when I go back to visit because this is not the same experience or quality as I receive back home.
