I ate breakfast yesterday morning [4-27-2022] at Waffle House [at 1712 N. High St. in the "University District" of Columbus]. I had had a 10:00 a.m. appointment yesterday morning in Hagerty Hall so I had decided to eat at Waffle House before arriving at Hagerty Hall for my appointment.
My food choice at Waffle House had been a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese [SEC] Hashbrown Bowl. The service had been quick and efficient; my food had been delicious [and quite filling].
Waffle House is a "breakfast restaurant" that is open 24 hours each day. I would assume that they are, particularly during the "overnight" hours, one of the very few food choices in that neighborhood.
I had never before eaten at Waffle House in part because they had opened after I had retired from work in the University District and in part because I had always assumed [because of their name] that they serve only waffles [which is not the case at all].
I spoke briefly with my server about the Newport Music Hall [formerly known as "The Agora"], located immediately north of Waffle House [at 1722 N. High St.], where long lines of concert-goers will regularly form on the sidewalk before most of the concerts at that location.
I also spoke with my server about the potential for increased customer traffic at Waffle House "after the bars close at 2:30 a.m."
My bill had been handwritten on an old-fashioned piece of paper rather than being computer-printed.
I actually paid for my meal "in person" at a cash register that has an on-line credit card terminal [that produces computer-printed receipts that the customer would sign]; however, but my initial bill had been an old-fashioned handwritten bill [like I have not seen for many years].
If you want some good "breakfast food" 24 hours each day, I strongly recommend...
Read moreMy servers name was Leann she was the rudest server I have ever experienced. Complained about us dining in and made it very obvious that we were an inconvenience to her. She kept saying that we were keeping her from doing her job even though she was a server there to serve us. I understand that it was in the middle of a shift change but from being someone who works in customer service as well, I find it very rude and even offensive when you verbally make it known that a customer is an inconvenience to you right in front of them. The server also continued to be rude to other employees and acted like she knew more than everyone else there. For example when she made us pay for our food before we had even begun eating… then when I told her the checks would be separate she rolled her eyes and said “yeah I know that” in a very rude and condescending tone. Waffle House is my go to place when I travel and after going to various locations all around the eastern United States this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I normally do not wish anything bad upon anyone but I really hope that the server Leann is dealt with appropriately as she has no place working...

She got the wrong person for the simple fact of being brunette and thought that the other girl was me she told me that she was a thief I told her that she could check the cameras and she refused she is a very impulsive girl and insults people without first seeing the evidence or if she was wrong she didn't assume it either she is a white test girl light hair color and glasses , And if you're reading this, I invite you to check the cameras and see that you made a mistake,...
