Good quality ingredients and good service. This is my favorite Asian restaurant to go to in Columbus and it always makes my day if I'm lucky enough to run into the owner. He's a very nice guy. Apparently he also owns a store in bloomington as well so hes's not always there. Of course there's a couple single minu items I might prefer at other restaurants like Sophia's vegetable lo mein. But it's generally more expensive and Yee Kee is just more reliable from one menu item to the next, day after day, id bet on them. Everything is good they use good quality vegetables which I think can make or break a meal. Plus the menu is quite big. And I feel more authentic than most of the other options. Never go to chopstick if it's even still in business. Poor quality and if they mess up your order they will not fix it. Thai connection would be a great option for a date being a little fancier for dine in but again more expensive. Yee kee is the furthes away of the 3 for me but that never stopped me. They are cash only but not if you order online FYI. If you want some good Asian food but you'r pockets aren't too deep, you've gotta go to Yee Kee IMO. Also ask for the awesome hand made chili garlic sauce which I sadly...
Read moreIt's a nice chinese joint, though not my favorite. I liked their General Tsos Chicken which they make fresh for you, however, I like my General Tsos more spicy than sweet and Yee Kee's is too sweet for my liking. I also like trying Kung Pao Chicken at any chinese joint I go to since it's a favorite dish of mine. I did not like Yee Kee's kung pao. I don't know what they put in their sauce but I don't care for it. I don't even know how to describe the taste so I'm probably not any help to people looking for reviews. The only think I can think of is maybe it's the pork fried rice??? Idk. The combos available do not offer chicken fried rice, its only pork fried rice. I don't know if they offer chicken fried rice since I only got combos there. They do not accept credit card so you must bring cash or check. I like that they offer complimentary water in the lobby. The prices are decent and the food is very heavy! You definitely get what you pay for. Again, not terrible chinese food so it's worth checking out...just...
Read moreI have gone there for years and the owner knows what I get. The last two times, the orders were wrong when I got them home. I always get shrimp with only broccoli. Today I told the owner that as usual I wanted the Szechuan shrimp with broccoli and this time I wanted an egg roll instead of soup. Got it home and it had other vegetables mixed in like the last time, way way too much garlic, broccoli undercooked, and it tasted like fish or something had been cooked in the pan prior to my meal. Also, I got soup instead of the eggroll I requested. I hate to stop going there because has been my favorite place to eat for years, but I’m kind of over having to throw away most of my meal. I have no doubt the owner told the cook what I wanted, but I noticed that the cook brought a whole bunch of dishes out and sat on a table for staff to eat while he was supposed to be working...
