I had never visited a T.J. Maxx and wanted to try it. My previous idea was that it was a clothing store akin to Maurices or Forever 21. I had no idea it also sold not only everything a fashionable gal needs head to toe but also kitchenware, bath items, stationery, loads of home decor, and clothing for the fellas! I found Bissel carpet shampoo for pet stain removal!! I bought clearance Father's Day cards for the men in my life and a birthday card by Laura Ashley, Pink Linen hair accessories, a loofah, a Rachel Zoe necklace, a journal, and a beautiful linen and crochet cover-up for swimsuit season (which beautifully doubles as a kimona with a shorts tank or dress outfit). Terrible customer service! I was shopping for pants with my mom, when we went to the dressing room area to try them on there was no one at the counter, so I went ahead into a room and started trying my clothes on. When I came out I was stopped by a very rude old lady who wouldn’t let me leave the area. She told me I was supposed to have talked to her first. When I told her there wasn’t anyone there, she called me a liar and said that I needed to put my items back. When my mom saw that I wasn’t coming out she came up and explained the situation once again. She told us to pick out what we wanted and leave, so we just left without purchasing and told her that we were no longer interested. They've really cleaned this place up since I last shopped here, which is always a good thing. It used to be messy and cluttered, especially around the housewares and toys because inconsiderate people allow their children to play with and scatter toys and other items around the store without even purchasing them. Whether the people of Columbus have become more considerate or T.J. Maxx has improved their cleanliness standards, I welcome the change. Great variety of housewares, furniture, and clothes all around, all at very affordable prices. They do tend to get very packed at times, but with all the great deals here it's to be expected.
