I scheduled an early appointment for my wedding day, excited to have my makeup professionally done for my 3 PM ceremony on the 3rd. I chose this salon based on positive reviews, but I was incredibly disappointed when I left. Upon inspecting my makeup in the car, I discovered that my lashes were coming off, and my appearance resembled that of someone with two black eyes. The shock and anxiety I felt in that moment were overwhelming.
I returned to the salon to have my left eyelash fixed. Unfortunately, the artist who applied my makeup was occupied with another client, so I had to wait for someone else to assist me. After the fix, I got back into my car, only to find that my right eyelash was now coming off as well. Frustrated, I decided to head home and redo my makeup myself, accepting the loss of money spent on what I had hoped would be a professional service.
I chose the salon because their website claimed they used mineral makeup, ideal for achieving a glowing appearance. To my dismay, the makeup used was from a budget brand, including products from e.l.f. ā the only high-end items were the GLO foundation and concealer. I had requested a light makeup look and provided inspiration photos; however, the results were far from what I envisioned. If you're a bride or attending prom, I caution you to consider other salons.
After my appointment, I visited Ulta to purchase some products to improve my look. The staff there asked where I had my makeup done, and upon hearing my answer, one of the girls offered to remove the poor quality makeup and apply high-end products instead. To my relief, she transformed my appearanceādespite not being a licensed cosmetologist or makeup artist. I spent only $13 on lashes at Ulta and tipped the wonderful lady for her excellent work!!
The lashes applied at Ulta lasted until the next morning, raising the question of how a high-end salon failed to achieve the same result. In the salon's lighting, the dark circles under my eyes were not noticeable, but in natural light, I appeared drastically unwell, as if I were attempting to mask a sleepless night. When I arrived at Blondie's, I confirmed I had no makeup on, following their advice for a clean face. The artist did not use moisturizer or any preparatory products, rather relying on a cheap green concealer to cover redness before applying the foundation. She completed my eyes last, allowing dark powder to fall onto my cheeks instead of following the proper technique of applying eye makeup first.
I can only recommend the salon for purchasing GLO foundation or suggest doing your own wedding makeup. Alternatively, I highly recommend Ultaāleaving there, I felt like a completely new person. The first photo I shared shows the makeup from Blondieās, where my lashes were already falling off just minutes after leaving. The second photo features the makeup by Ulta in Columbus, which speaks for itself. Ladies, be cautious and save your money! Had I seen my makeup in natural light before paying, thereās no way I would have tipped for that service. Choose Ulta instead and ask for Peyten such a sweet gal!!! The manager on duty did my eyebrows and even gave me a mirror that lights up as a gift to help make the day a whole lot brighter than it had been all morning until I stepped foot in their establishment!

2nd picture is the terrible job Blondies did on my makeup
3rd and 4th picture is the makeup done by Peyten at Ulta! She and the manager on duty literally...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas already a horrible start from the second I walked in. Alarm had been going off entire time I was in there and I was told that itās usually like that. No thanks to Kacey āblonde headā for making my experience even worse. She was just walking around me multiple times and kept starring like if I was a thief based off my skin tone she didnāt even bother to ask if I needed assistance. Considering there was not even much on multiple shelves and I was looking for a Too Faced product and eventually gave up because like I stated I was offered NO assistance. Finally I had to walk up front to the checkout where āKaceyā was just on her phone and rudely asked what I wanted. All I wanted was assistance so I could get my products and leave without any issues. And when āKaceyā was ringing me out she rudely snatched my phone out of my hand. And then also had the audacity to give back my phone with an attitude basically shoving it back towards my direction where my hand was. Such a disappointment that I couldnāt even leave feeling satisfied with this store. Manager was helpful with products but not assuring me that I wouldnāt have to deal with her type of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love browsing around Ulta and usually have a good experience. I went about 2 weeks ago to look for new blush and pick up an online order. During my visit, there were high pitched alarms constantly going off. The alarms were so loud and frequent, they gave me a migraine and I had to use noise cancelling headphones to try to drown out the sound. I could have used advice deciding on a product and shade, but was never approached to ask if I needed help, despite there being 4-5 workers in the store. The shelves were somewhat empty, which I understand due to supply chain issues and the holidays. However, many of the samples were missing so I couldnāt have even picked out the shade I needed and ordered online. When I went to check out, I was told the beeping was due to low battery on the colognes/perfumes security devices. Staff said they were waiting for replacement batteries to arrive, but surely there is a better way to handle that situation besides letting the alarms...
