Stopped in for the first time because I've never been to this kind of donut shop, looked interesting. Walked in and noticed the store was extremely small. Like, uncomfortablely small. I'm surprised 10 people could even fit in there. Very cramped, felt like no matter where I stood, I was in the way. The store had a pretty, warm interior and features a small selection of donut flavors, with some overpriced hot dogs and drinks. Apparently there is also a "3 donut minimum", and it says that absolutely nowhere in the store, not on the menu, nothing. I don't eat sweets like that, so I almost didn't even buy anything, but I wanted to try a new place, so I did. Over $10 for 3 small donuts that are half the size of a regular donut. They are nothing to write home about, unfortunately, I actually got sick off of them after eating. I expected a way better experience. The store also leaves the donuts out on the counter, no coverings, so bugs and dust are probably all over them. The cashout POS system will force you to tip if you're not careful. Also, what am I tipping you for? Seriously asking. We were barely greeted and it felt like our business was not appreciated at all. Whoever was running the till was very short and monotone with customers. Atmosphere and vibe were ridiculously awkward, and the system they use that calls out orders over the speaker is annoying and unnecessary. I wouldn't come back, and I won't recommend this place, either. How in the world does this place have over 3 stars on Google...
Read moreThis is my first time here, and these are my thoughts.
Little expensive, but it's a specialty shop with things I've never seen in Kalamazoo, so it's understandable.
I got the three pack doughnuts, a green apple lemonade, and a mozzarella dog with potato coating.
The doughnuts I got were chocolate marshmallow, coffee, and strawberry.
The chocolate marshmallow was good but essentially just a chocolate doughnut. The strawberry was super flavorful and the coffee as well. The texture of the three was kinda dense and chewy, which a friend explained is how it's supposed to be as it's made from mochi. The price was 3 for $10.
The green apple lemonade was just the right mix of sweet and tart with a good flavor overall. It cost $4.99.
The potato covered mozzarella dog reminded me heavily of this giant fried cheese-on-a-stick treat I used to get at the fair. They are what drew me here. I've seen them online with the potato and thought I'd take a chance. It was super crunchy on the outside, and the cheese had a great pull and flavor. It was actually way more food than it appeared and filled me up. They were $6.75.
With tip, I spent $27.15...
Read moreI was excited when my wife and I drove past here a couple weeks back, as we had no idea there was now a Mochinut in Kalamazoo! Today we came here for the first time. The interior is cute with Mochinut and corn dog art and frosting with sprinkles towards the back. The staff were friendly and inviting as well.
We got Boba, corn dogs and mochinuts 😊 I'll start with the Boba. I got the Ube Boba. That was pretty solid, wow, great flavor! It also comes in a cute container quite unlike any Boba container I've seen.
I got the Blue Takis Corndog. It was pretty good, the Takis give it a nice subtle spiciness and crunch. My favorite dipping for it was the ketchup.
And lastly, the Mochinuts. Sadly, they were a bit disappointing. My favorite was the chocolate funnel one, the other too weren't quite as soft as I'd like them to be. However, the fruity pebbles one was really good with the Ube.
Sadly, I didn't think it lived up to the hype. It was kind of a mixed bag, though I would return for the Ube boba and to try...
