I usually order from this place at least six times a month. My 16-year-old is an athlete, and he loves getting food from here before his away games. The staff has even complimented him before on how respectful and kind he is, saying he has better manners than most teenagers they see. That meant a lot to me as a parent.
However, my experience as a DoorDash driver at this same restaurant was completely different. I donât understand why some businesses donât extend the same level of courtesy to delivery drivers as they do to regular customersâweâre still helping get their food to people. When I arrived with my younger son, we were told the order would be ready in five minutes. After waiting ten minutes, I noticed employees were busy preparing a large catering order. Eventually, two employees carried out several big bags, but no one updated me about my pickup.
When I politely asked one of the employees how much longer the order would take, she started to check but was stopped by the manager, who told her to go to the bathroom instead and said she would âbe over there in a little while and she can wait .â I then asked the manager directly to please be honest about the wait time, explaining that if it was going to be much longer, I would need to unassign from the order so I could get food for my son, who is on medication. She said it would be another five minutes.
I asked if my son could have a courtesy drinj while we waited, but I was told it would cost $2.25. At that point, we had already been waiting more than 15 minutes, and I felt it was the least they could offer. Instead, the manager argued with me about how the order wasnât technically late yet because the pickup time hadnât passed by much. I finally told her I was going to unassign from the order, and she started yelling âbye, bye, bye, get out!â
Iâll admit I responded out of frustration at that point, but I went in polite, patient, and respectful. I didnât complain, make faces, or cause any issues while waiting. For the manager to deny my son even a cup of water, instruct her staff not to help me, and then yell at me in front of him was extremely unprofessional. I even apologized to my son afterward, because I should have risen above her behavior instead of letting it escalate.
This was a disappointing experience, especially considering how often we order here as...
Read moreI LOVE Firehouse Subs. I order them at least once a week, but this experience left me a little irritated to say the least . No matter the reason that I was as late as I was getting to the store, I got there before closing at 9 - 8:54 pm to be exact on 10/02/18. My order was placed and completed by Hunter at 8:57:57pm per the receipt for $36.45 at which time this smart aleck proceeded to inform me that "next time I want to place an order, to keep in mind that they do close at 9:00 pm" ~ ah, YES, I know that, I was there before 9 and placed my order. The fact is that I'm sure that they already had the store ready to "lock up", cleaned and all at 9:00 pm which is not the idea of being open until 9. Not only did my order get made incorrectly, it was the most sloppy bunch of sandwiches we had ever gotten. That is pretty sorry in my opinion. If these are the rude type of people you all hire to work at your store, then you can keep your sandwiches and I'll go elsewhere. My money is too hard earned to be disrespected because I walked into the door before "closing". I have worked in fast food myself when I was younger and it didn't matter if there were 50 people in the place, you locked the door at closing time and you served them all until the last customer with at dang smile on your face. I didn't even so much as get a "thank you" when he tossed my bag of food up on the counter at 9:06 pm. Sorry to have...
Read moreWeirdest experience ever. Caden/Kaden (white male) wants to play boss but doesnât know the first thing about being a boss. Going around and barking orders is not what a âmanagerâ does. Nor does a âmanagerâ have to yell on the top of his/her lungs that he is the manager and this is what managers doesâŚhe was/is a little boy walking around in his dadâs shoes. Further, he was belittling a new female associate whom apparently just began work three weeks ago and was already shift managerâŚagain, no idea why office politics were on display tonight. Lastly, he cut the drink machine off while at least 6 people were in the restaurant AND the restaurant still had a few minutes to spare before being officially closed. Again, is this what a âmanagerâ does?
(I think their names are) Elijah and Greg (both black males) were pleasant and actually sweet. Professional, no, but their overall demeanor was appreciated and frankly the only reason why I gave the food and service at least three starsâŚkudos to them for making my experience at least a decent one. Thank you, gentleman (Elijah and Greg and NOT man child âmanagerâ.
Unfortunately I will never return to this location because as I started off, it was such a weird experienceâŚfrom a little man child running around and yelling and random music being loudly playedâŚI think...
