Super late Update : Dined in and the experience this time was far better. Food tasted so much better and def. good. Ordered Butter chicken, Mutton Rogan, Naan basket , Mango lassi and also Chicken Biryani. Also recvd the Mini biryani as mentioned in my last post as a To-Go! Enjoyed a scrumptious meal. The staff was nice & the Mgr was true to his words. Thanks for turning the negative to a truly positive experience. Updated the rating based on the most recent visit and experience!! Thanks!
Ordered food (takeout) on a Sunday night(around 6.00pm). Ordered Vijayawada chicken biryani (Bucket); Goat biryani, and Chicken tikka curry. Spent over $$$ just to find out that the Chicken Biryani went bad already by Monday evening 6pm once a portion of the food was heated in the microwave. The chicken biryani was barely consumed as we had the goat biryani on Sunday night for dinner and thought our Monday dinner was sorted. However, This is our second experience of Vijayawada biryani going bad in just 24 hours (first time this happened a few months ago but I didn't call or complain and thought Perhaps they must have packed the morning batch and may be it went bad by fluke giving them the benefit of doubt the first time this happened). Since this is our second experience, I decided to call the restaurant to speak with the Mgr in the hopes of resolving this simple issue either by issuing a credit or a refund. Finally when asked for Mgr i was told that one of the owners is "Jai" and he's not available to speak. Asked them to have the Mgr/owner call me back. This was at 7pm Monday night when I hung up the call and No one called & this is Negligence at its best!! Had been to this restaurant and gave them our business many times but looks like they are NOT interested in respecting customers and/or their concerns. Poor quality of food and this unfortunately is not acceptable and will be potentially disastrous for public safety and the health of customers. If the Mgmt is reading this please hire professional adults who can actually deal with customers with professionalism as this not some university class to argue with customers baselessly. If one can afford to pay a $$$ for dinner obviously the expectation is have good taste, great quality food and stellar service. Kindly take the responsibility to check the quality of food being packed in take-outs & educate your staff not to pack stale food and if that's not possible you should NOT BE IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY as this could have adverse health effects! Sorry but not Sorry!! Sadly this is terrible service and total waste of anyone's time and money! I generally never post any negative reviews trying to give everyone a second chance but clearly felt this needs to be posted for others awareness! Unfortunately, the quality of food has gone down terribly & the taste hasn't been consistent on the orders sadly. Not a happy camper with the repeat experience of food going bad!
UPDATE: Visited the restaurant around 2.30pm on Tuesday to speak with someone and the supervisor came out and was professional / polite and agreed that the food went bad after smelling the bucket biryani that I took along for them to inspect and perhaps was due to hot biryani being packed in a plastic container. Suggested that he cannot issue a credit or a refund but will be able to provide a "Mini Biryani" on my next order although not the full bucket biryani and that he will put in our account tab for future orders. Not the expected resolution but at least he was courteous and owned the responsibility. Thanks for at least trying! Will give this restaurant another last try & update the...
Read moreWith my friends recommendation, we highly spoke of this place to my business partner and we invited them to this place for the lunch on Sunday 02/18. When we asked about the options server mentioned about Raju Gari Bhojanam. Name sounded Rich and Fancy and we wanted to try.
We asked for 4 non-veg plates and server brought few veg varieties - cold Sambar, 1 teaspoon quantity Dal Makhani, Curd, Mango Lassi in a paper tea cup (Half cup - even my 2 year old will eat 2-3 such quantity), 2 manchuria sized very small pieces of chicken fry, which she said it is appetizer (Even server don't know what is the name of that appetizer, which looked like chicken fry), 1 Small spoon size of half cooked coconut rice and puri (Don't know what to eat it with, may be Dal Makhani they assumed). First look of that is like like satram or Annadanam, which would be many times better.
After 10 minutes, she came back with 1 big bucket, which contains 3 partitions - chicken curry, shrimp and goat curry. As Shrimp and goat are expensive, we obviously couldn't find the shrimp and goat pieces in the entire bucket except tomato puree. Chicken is relatively better. This time, we asked her to get extra appetizer, which she brought in a small bowl with 5 manchuria sized pieces for 4 people. We laughed at ourselves and thought to not ask it anymore.
We asked more puri and told her that there is no mutton in the bucket. She came back after 15 minutes with 6 puri and small bowl, which we usually used to serve dessert, with mutton curry. Not sure how she felt, but at this time we fell ashamed/shy to ask for more.
Biryani is altogether a new story.. She brought a big bowl, with a spoon and we thought she would keep it on our table as we were 4 people. Then she started asking, "would you like to have biryani"? We said yes, and she started serving some in our plate and asked my business partner "Do you want chicken piece? :)" and served some biryani to other 3 people. Bowl didn't have chicken, so she served 2 people just biryani rice without chicken pieces, and took away the bowl. After 15 minutes, she brought just chicken pieces. By the time, she brought chicken pieces (only chicken pieces not entire birano), we finished eating biryani rice and we didn't ask for more again
Remember the small paper cup of mango lassi in the beginning of serving? Our partner liked it and we asked for 1 more cup. They said it is over :)
By this time we could feel the wierd expression on our partner face and felt she completely lost her respect for indian culture, indian cuisine. It was embarassing moment for us.
This shouldn't be named RAJU GARI BHOJANAM. Neither the server (Restaurant owner) behaved liked RAJU(King) nor they treated us (Customers) as RAJU(King).
All this for $25+Taxes. This Bhojanam should be named Annadam or RAJU should be replaced with something else (Which I didn't want to write here).
We strongly determined to no longer go to Indian restaurants, which are very greedy about getting $10 profit for every $1 they invest.
For all the Indian restaurants out there - If you think Buffet/thali is expensive, increase the price. If you think buffet or thali is not affordable, please take it out of your menu. But don't behave so cheap and in the name of business, please don't spoil the reputation of the country, which is known for hospitality ,service and feeding the world.
Atleast the size of this review is RAJU...
Read moreI usually avoid Indian restaurants as they often don't meet my taste standards, but my wife enjoys Indian food. For our wedding anniversary, we decided to dine at Nawabi Hyderabadi House in Concord, North Carolina. We ordered goat paya with parota, non-veg thali, two masala fried fish, quail, and I also ordered a Black Label.
Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The service was subpar, with over five to six waitresses who seemed to be students without proper training or experience. I had to repeatedly ask for my drink even after the food arrived. The waitresses were inattentive, busy checking their phones and chatting among themselves. Dirty glasses and dishes were not cleared, and no one bothered to pour water or check if I needed another drink.
The food quality was equally disappointing. The goat paya tasted like steamed meat with basic spices, far from what it should be. The masala fried fish was nothing like the menu picture, with a thick layer of raw masala on top. The non-veg thali had cold chicken and mutton curry. When I asked about the difference between the two chicken appetizers in the thali, the server's response was unhelpful, indicating a lack of knowledge.
My wife was upset, and we decided not to return. However, last Saturday, we had an impromptu get-together with five families and decided to order takeout from Nawabi Hyderabadi House. We called around 8 PM to order Baby Corn Kothimeer appetizer, Chicken Monagadu, medium tray special chicken Vijayawada boneless biryani, medium tray veg biryani, and chicken Hakka noodles for kids, specifying medium spicy for all dishes. The person who took the order said she would call back with the price, which she did at 8:15 PM, and asked me to collect the food after 50 minutes.
I left home at 8:55 PM and arrived at the restaurant at 9:10 PM to pick up the food, which was ready at the bar counter. I paid and picked up the food, but the trays were not hot or warm. When we opened the food at home, it was not even warm. I called the restaurant to give feedback, but the girl who answered argued that the food was ready by 8:30 PM and blamed me for picking it up late. I tried to explain that I was told to come after 50 minutes, but she didn't accept my feedback. She handed the phone to another guy who defended their actions, stating that my check was closed at 9:30 PM and the food was ready at 8:30 PM, hence it was cold. He promised to call back in 2 minutes, but I am still waiting for that call after three days.
I don't understand how all the food was made within 15 minutes and why the restaurant didn't care enough to keep it hot or warm. This experience was frustrating, and the lack of customer care is unacceptable. I would recommend avoiding Nawabi Hyderabadi House if you want good food and service. Go...
