WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE INCIDENT EVER!!! FULL DISCLAIMER! Can I just say, MY FAMILY AND I LOOOOOOVE THIS RESTAURANT AND ITS FOOD, SOOOOOOO MUCH SO, THAT WE HAVE WAITED UP TO 45 MINUTES AT A TIME to get our food TO GO and sometimes longer for a table. have NEVER, IN MY LIFE experienced what I experienced today in this restaurant, ANYWHERE, IN THE WORLD, EVER! My mother, sister and I were in the area to see a movie @ brenden. We thought it might be fun and convenient to stop in and grab a bite to eat and just catch up before hand. So we walk into N&C, and it is it's usual, super busy, every table full. NO PROBLEM! -WE CAN WAIT! :) its 4:15 And wait we did. We waited, POLITELY, over by the door until a larger table became available about 25 min later....we then waited about 15 min more to get our food served to us in bits and pieces -WHICH, AGAIN! -WE DIDN'T MIND! We had to ask for our 2nd order of samosa (Ordered at time of original purchase) about 3 more times, which WE DIDNT MIND! We were having great conversation, nothing unusual, just chit chat amongst us ladies....so about 10 minutes after WE FINALLY get our last dish, @ 5:55 we are finishing up our tea, and we have about 20 more min until our movie started. My mom had already packed our remaining food into the white To-go boxes and this guy comes out from behind the kitchen, talks to a lady standing in front our table like a damn vulture. They exchange quick words, while glancing over at us and the guy gives us a dirty look- goes in the kitchen, comes back, THROWS 3 little clear containers on our table and says "PLEASE!" Gesturing with a nod of his head. We were slightly confused but thought there to maybe be a language barrier as he clearly had a heavy accent and appeared to be latino (I am part latino, this is not a racist comment, merely an observation) So, he goes back over to the lady, exchanged words again, and they both look over at us, exchange nods and he walks away back into the kitchen. So now I'm kind of pissed, but since we were already almost ready to go, we begin to gather up our dishes and just as i am putting everything in one nice neat pile, here this guy comes out from behind the kitchen and stands at my table while i am gathering (and still talking to my family) When this man decided it was time to take, AND I MEAN SNATCH the dishes from my hand, I decided it was time i let this man know how Damn RUDE THIS WAS! So I didnt make a scene BUT I FIRMLY SAID "SIR!? THIS IS EXTREMELY RUDE OF YOU! When he nodded and said "yes, yes, ok" I knew he didnt understand me so I shifted my position to look him DIRECTLY IN HIS EYES WHILE STILL HOLDING MY DISHES FIRMLY AND SAID" NO! YOU SIR ARE VERY RUDE! WHAT YOU DID TO US WAS VERY RUDE!" He seemed to be embarrassed that I stood up to him like that and backed off and let my dishes go...the restaurant was so busy, no one noticed, except of course for the lady still standing at the end of our table, now nervously scrolling through her phone...but I mean HONESTLY! We were SO SHOCKED at someone behaving towards us like that, we paid, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! WE WAITED! -LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! AND WE WERE EATING! LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! We WERE NOT CAUSING A SCENE OR BEING DISRUPTIVE SO WHAT GIVES!?!?!? We were pretty sure the owner (the guy at the till) DID NOT KNOW That such an incident had occurred between his staff and a customer and he was EXTREMELY busy so we decided that what had happened wasn't worth disrupting 10 other people from ordering their food and the messing up the flow of the restaurant, So we just left. Part of me thinks, maybe I should have. I think owners need to know when staff take matters of their business into their own hands like that. It so sad but honestly, how we were treated was so unfair, so unjust and so unnecessary. So instead of making a scene going back and forth during their dinner rush, We just agreed to NOT EVER go back. Sad, because we...
Read moreMy coworkers and I ordered take out and everything was ready by the time we got there.
The order consisted of chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, and aloo gobhi and a few orders of garlic naan.
We requested one of the chicken tikka masalas be mild instead of medium [standard], and they didn't label which was which, this wasn't the end of the world but this is something they should consider doing for their customers.
My coworker ordered the chicken vindaloo mild and it was very spicy. The others who handle spice well even said it was very spicy - much more than their medium-level dish. So, I'm not sure if this is what their mild vindaloo tastes like or they didn't make it mild on accident. Needless to say, this coworker did not eat his dish.
I don't eat meat, so I was happy that they had vegan friendly options. Many dishes have cream or milk in the sauce, but there are also a handful of the vegetable dishes that do not. I called in ahead of time to double check and the guy was very nice and helpful letting me know my options. So, I ended up getting the Aloo Gobhi and it was pretty good. The flavor and spice was good, which went well with the side of rice and garlic naan.
The garlic naan was very good. It was fresh and definitely makes the dish tastes even better. My one critique here would be that they put the plain naan on top of the garlic naan so there was garlic all over the bottom of the plain naan. I appreciate that they tried to save by putting everything together, but the person who ordered plain naan for a reason now has to deal with the garlic stuck to the bottom.
Overall, the 4-stars given is based on the experience this time, but I'd like to go back again and try some...
Read moreThis was my first dine out of the new year. I love food and I love eating out, so this was an important meal. I had at least 2 friends recommend this place to me so my hopes were high. I walked in around 2pm and it was packed. It took the cashier several minutes to acknowledge me, but it was ok because I was still looking at the menu. Turns out this was just the start of his rude behavior. He hurriedly took my order for Lamb Tikka Masala, a side of rice, samosas, and an order of regular and garlic naan. All of the tables were full so he sternley demanded me to go sit in the chair against the wall. The chair was directly behind 2 tables, and I would have been blocking 2 people from getting out of their seats. I decided to sit in the waiting area for to-go orders until a table became available. While I was waiting I could see all of the cooks work their magic with big tubs of spices, giant pots, and no measuring utensils in sight. All ingredients were added with a pinch or a handful. I also had to displeasure to observe the cashier continue to be rude to several other patrons; it's not worth going into detail. I changed my order to to-go. I got another dirty look and was told to go sit in the chair again! I replied that I will sit where I please. I think he got the picture. The food was all very good. All of the flavors were exactly as expected and the meat was incredibly tender. The experience with the staff and the ambiance are just as important as the food and they ruined it for me, and that is why they get 3 stars and a blurry picture from my coffee table. The moral of this story...
