Ellis Lake Park — Attraction in Concord

Update: I went back a few weeks later to find the injured geese were removed, and and the remaining geese were now on other side of that lake area. I then spent several hours after that going around the ateas of waters' edge I could reach with a long stick, and pull out garbage. Alot being fast food discards. I recovered a partial bicycle, a shopping cart(2), and lots of misolanious debris,and finally to my distorting, a DEAD TURTLE carcass that DISINTEGRATED!!!!!!!!!!! as I was pulling it up from the water!!#%%*# --- as disgusting as it really appeared,the SMELL leaves me speechless. Canadian geese need their own area, and some are in need of medical attention. They are dependent on the humans who come and feed them bread and such instead of the food they usually forage on in the large fields and farmlands. They poop everywhere!!! The water is not clean. I walk by the Ellis Lake several times a week. Today, 6/20/2018, I decided to enjoy the heat and sunshine while walking around the lake geese watching, Relaxing and peaceful meditation at many viewing spots round the lake. It is peceful and quiet. Please remember that geese are wild animals and they will attack if threatened (mainly chasing you or alerting there flock of possible dangers.) Bird watching and fishing take place at the lake as well. There is a kids' playground behind Monument House. A new kids' play area is being built on the NE corner of the lake. The entire lake has a concrete path. At various times on some days you might find possible drug sales. Early morning or dusk seem to be this might happen. There is not rampant drug use or sales, but once in a while you may come across a drug deal or quiet a few homeless people. I have found both groups are harmless and they keep their dealings quiet and inconspicuous. Overall, it is a beautiful spot to spend an afternnon alone, with friends or families and tour little ones. On May 20, 2022, shortly after 10:00 a.m, my wife was playing with our 20 month old daughter on the playground when suddenly the woman in the photo came at my wife from behind, grabbed her by the hair and punched her in the head and face. The man who was paired with the woman was laughing as he watched my wife being assaulted. We are Asians. We do not know both of them at all. We are not sure why they targeted my wife.
