I'm glad another Grocery Outlet store opened in Concord after the one on Clayton Rd. closed several years ago. Unfortunately, this one needs some improvement on management training and customer service. I was in the process of purchasing a couple of items and was told the total. I always try to do the math in my head ahead of time to make sure I am being charged the correct amount regardless of where I shop. I questioned the employee this time because I felt the price was a few dollars more than I calculated. I immediately knew what item I was being overcharged for and I asked her to confirm the price. I advised her the price tag that was shown on the item and she requested a fellow employee to verify the price. The other employee came back and confirmed the price I told her was correct, however she said she thought it was a mistake. The employee who was ringing me up asked if I still wanted the item and I told her no. A supervisor had to be contacted to process the refund and this time I showed him the sign. He rudely said it was a mistake, turned his back, and walked away, not offering to correct the mistake or even to offer an apology. He seemed rather irritated to have to get off his high horse to be even be troubled with this. Like many of us, I've worked in customer service for several years. I know it's not the easiest of jobs, however I also know how to not treat customers especially when they are not at fault. I felt this was one of the most rudest individuals I have ever come across. Maybe his cold demeanor was due to his age or he was just having a bad day. Regardless, I would hope to be treated a little better. I intend to skip this Grocery Outlet in favor of the one in...
Read moreI have been a loyal shopper here for about five years. I enjoy to great variety and the somewhat healthier alternatives. They also have an incredible selection of excellent wines at great prices. Make certain that you don't forget to bring a state issued and current identification. To be safe you may want to also keep a certified notarized letter from your local Sheriff to validate your identification.Lastly, make sure that your current appearance and hairstyle is very near that on your identification or you will certainly not be able to take advantage of their fine selection of reasonably priced wines. This is the only complaint or drawback that I have about this establishment. They should leave the enforcement of Alcoholic Beverage Control to our law enforcement. It is great to be a responsibile, law abiding merchant but that's were it should end. As a former law enforcement member and past the age of fifty, I am very offended that I am denied my right to purchase alcohol frpm a twenty one year old on a power trip. This seems to be s real hot issue at this establishment and it leave's one to wonder what type of incident occurred that makes the owner's feel the need to have their staff do overly vigilant? This is not very reasonable to treat people over fifty like Teens with false identification. Leave enforcement to the appropriate officials. The excuse that you must possess valid form of identification is also best left to the police. Otherwise this is a pretty good place to shop...
Read moreI only noticed I was over charged for an item when I looked at the receipt when I got home. I should always check before I leave. This is the second time I've had it happen to me at this location. The cashier just wasn't paying attention when checking me out. Now I have to go back for an adjustment.
The store still needs to make sure the prices are accurate because while in the check out line some guy was asking about the price of almond milk and it was because the price tag wasn't accurate as I'm sure items were moved on the shelf. That wasn't fun so I moved to another cashier to check out.
11/11/22 The store has gotten a little more cramped because of the holiday decor, but it's ok. Items are still in order nicely. I came in looking for Pocky because the email ad had them. It took me a while to find them, but they had them. I also found some dumplings in the freezer and picked those up. Still a good place to shop if you're looking for deals. I left finding what I needed.
3/10/23 Came in here looking for something I saw in one of their daily emails and almost left disappointed. I did find it just before I left. I haven't been here since they upgraded the store with everything in place. Everything looks good and is in the same places they were except the salsa and noodles moved to the left side of the store just before the bread isle. Shelves were full and neatly organized. I would have taken pictures but just wanted a quick in and out after finding...
