Skipolini's Pizza — Restaurant in Concord

I had been on a mission to find a quality pizza joint—one with great service, amazing pizza, and an atmosphere that actually makes you want to stay a while. And let me tell you, Skipolini’s Pizza in downtown Concord DELIVERED.

Funny thing is, my friend Jermaine and I had been eyeing this place for over a month. One day, we even walked by, and I told him, “Jermaine, you know I love pizza, right?” (Like, DUH.) But somehow, we ended up at Chipotle instead, and let’s just say… not my best decision. I was trying to be open-minded, not too spoiled or picky, but let’s be real—I was meant to be at Skipolini’s. So when I finally made it, it felt like destiny.

And WOW. This place is IT.

🍕 THE FOOD:

The Pizza: The toppings were loaded (which is rare), the crust was perfectly homemade, and each bite was pure bliss. I’m a green chile person, and while I’m used to New Mexico green chile, this version actually hit the spot. The green chile chicken pizza wasn’t super spicy, but it was PACKED with flavor. It had that rich, slightly smoky, slightly roasted taste that made it stand out. Honestly, it’s the closest thing I’ve found in California to NM green chile, and I was here for it!

Hot Wings: These weren’t just wings; they were an experience. A barbecue twist that slowly transformed into a buffalo-style kick? Genius. Whoever created this recipe, I want to shake their hand.

Cheesy Bread: Perfectly fluffy, golden-brown goodness. It came with ranch, but of course, I had to request marinara—because why not have both? No complaints, just perfection.

✨ THE EXPERIENCE:

Ambiance: This place is fine dining meets comfort food. It’s downtown Concord, it’s classy but cozy, and the patio at night is STUNNING. There’s a water fountain that adds this peaceful, almost magical touch, making it the perfect spot for a night out.

Music & Vibes: The music was on point, setting the perfect mood. I honestly could have stayed there for hours just soaking it all in.

Service: The service was TOP-TIER. It felt personal—like the owner might have been serving tables. You don’t get that kind of care just anywhere. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in every detail.

🍷 THE NIGHTLIFE & DRINKS:

I only got to experience Skipolini’s at lunch, but I can already tell the nightlife here must be AMAZING. They serve beer and wine, and I can imagine this place lit up at night, with the fountain, the music, and the good energy flowing. I’m definitely coming back in the evening to see if they host events—because this place is PERFECT for that.

🔥 FINAL VERDICT:

This place went from “that pizza spot we kept meaning to try” to “MY SPOT” in one visit. If you want phenomenal pizza, bomb wings, an inviting atmosphere, and top-tier service, Skipolini’s is IT. Five stars, easily. Now, if we can just get them to bring in some authentic New Mexico green chile, I might never leave.

Went to the Concord location. One word, dirty. Floors looked like they hadn't been swept in days. Multiple tables not cleared, with dishes, glasses, used napkins, old food lying all over the tables, and they stayed that way. Now this was at 4 pm and the place was empty, so not like they were slammed.

The table just across from ours looked like a party of 20 had eaten there and it wasn't cleared either. I asked two different people to please clear it as it was disgusting to have to look at during dinner, but neither were responsive. One even said sure, then continued flirting with two girls at a table for another 5 minutes. He eventually cleared the dishes but never wiped the table and just left it with food all over it.

The first glass of wine served was in a very dirty glass. That was sent back and the second glass was clean but the base of the glass had milk all over the bottom of it. At that point the person ordering wine just got a glass and poured a beer out of the pitcher. We told the waiter who said he would take the wine off the bill, but it was still on the bill when it came to the table.

My plate I got for the pizza was dirty. Asked for another and had to scrape a bit of cheese off of that one as well. Had to pull a few onion peels out of my mouth while eating the pizza. Ordered mushrooms on one of the pizzas that didn't come with mushrooms. Waiter said that he wrote down mushrooms but we never got any.

Overall the wait staff seemed like high school and college kids who were more interested in hanging out than actually doing any work. On top of that the windows were dirty and the mirror hanging in the dining area has streaks of something that had run down it and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years.

I am visiting my Grandson who is a month old yesterday as well as my kids and a nephew (Jackson) of my daughter in law. We went here because Jackson wanted Pizza and my kids said this place was amazing and they were correct. It was awesome. We sat outside on the patio and our waitress (I am totally butchering this but i think it was Fernada, Frenada, Something close to that and I am so sorry i am butchering that because she was wonderful.) She was playful, friendly, attentive, and fun making the evening even better than the food. Her demeanor and presence was that of family not of just more clients. She talked with us about family, and about her son and shared photos/videos (Tino, awesome nickname and so handsome a young man) and it was like sharing a family meal or a neighborhood BBQ instead of being at a local restaraunt. Service 15/10

We ordered Garlic Bread which was an explosion of yumminess with the garlic and cheese as an appetizer which did not disappoint, and then a Family pizza with Pepperoni, Pineapple, and Garlic white sauce. It was hot coming out of the kitchen and was cooked to perfection with the right combo of sauce to cheese and toppings. Food 12/10

The business wasn't super busy but was emaculate clean and everyone who worked there was friendly and verbally welcoming. The table and the dinnerware was very clean. I spoke with the manager after dinner to thank him and his staff personally and give a little extra praise and appreciation for everything. Environment 10/10
