Update, November, 2025.
Another morning that I was late in getting up, but I decided to make the 20 minute dash down to Golden Corral* for the breakfast buffet. I pulled into the lot practically screeching. My tires got inside and was at the cashier’s counter at 10:56. Well, by the time the cashier got her act together and checked me in the date stamp on my receipt said 1102. Needless to say they charged me the full $17.99 per person for two buffets and of course they had already taken down the breakfast items so the whole idea of a breakfast buffet was shot the hell. What did they do about charging me so much for standing in line until the time came to pay more? Nada, firm, nothing! I decided not to make a big deal out of it but paying $13.99 for a breakfast buffet is a bit much. Paying $17.99 for the same breakfast buffet, now that it’s been moved to the leftover table, is a big deal. I am writing this to notify the management of a deficiency in performance.
Update, July 2025. I woke up on a Sunday morning at 10:30 and was dying to go to Golden corral for breakfast. Knowing they had breakfast unyil 11, I rushed to get out of the house and was speeding all the way there. I got there at 10:50 AM. I walked in and paid for my meal rushed over to the breakfast area and to my surprise, they had already pulled down the omelette equipment , and all of the breakfast items were gone. The assistant manager was behind the counter, so I asked her where the breakfast is? She said we’ve taken it down with a very blank look on her face. And I said, but it’s only 10:50 breakfast doesn’t end until 11. She said with another blank stare, “We’ve taken it down“. Well, that was a fine how do you do. I wasn’t in the mood for lunch so I just picked at the leftover breakfast items that they had moved over to the warming area. Had the manager been there, we would’ve had a different result because he is human. He cares about people. The woman with a short hair has never smiled in the years i’ve been going to this restaurant. Well maybe it’ll be another two years until I get a craving to go there.
Great food and great service. My wife and I have been going there at least two times a week because the food is just that good and with the senior discount, you cannot beat the value anywhere. I have been trying to eat items that I have not eaten before and with every visit I have two or three more favorites.
The items we find missing are an Asian dish, guacamole, and cherry pie. I think these items would round off the offering to where it would be incredibly complete.
Is everything perfect? No of course not. There are things that I’m not crazy about but when you’ve got a 99% positive score, that’s something to write home about. The quality of the food from this Golden Corral has improved tenfold from the pre-Covid offerings. This afternoon I asked one of the Service employees if they had pizza because I didn’t see it. Within 20 minutes there was a freshly made pizza sitting waiting for me. The service people are dedicated to the quality of your visit. The cleanliness of utensils, floor, and restrooms is top-notch. That works hand-in-hand with the quality of a positive experience.
If you want to go there and don’t like crowds, I highly recommend the 3:30 PM to 5 PM timeslot. The food is the same, the offerings are the same, but there are much fewer diners than during the main part of the dinner hour or on weekends.
The main item among all items on the buffet is the steak. This is a sirloin steak and when they give you a slice, it’s somewhere between 12 and 16 ounces. They are not shy about feeding you a good helping of steak. The steak is marinated. I don’t know with what, but I find the marinated flavor unacceptable so I avoid the steak. I also avoid it because of the little man with the baseball cap who is nowhere near as friendly as all the other people in the restaurant. He is always cooking steak during steak hours, and he is behind the grill doing something during the other hours.I don’t even try to...
Read moreMy family and I usually go to the one in spring next to the HS because it is closer to us but after so many dissatisfied trips there recently we decided to take the extra 20 minute trip to see if we can go back to enjoying the place we once loved. Anyways the service was great, and everyone was nice and very helpful. It wasn’t dirty and if there was a mess it was cleared up immediately and that’s really nice bc I hate messy restaurants and seeing tables dirty for more than 30 minutes after the people done left. However the bathrooms were dirty which was weird because they smelled nice. I went to changed my 2 month olds pamper and at first the family room was occupied so I went into the regular girls restroom. The changing table was so filthy, it had brown stains on it and what looked like to be a big booger. So after I gathered my self and tried hard to stop gagging I went outside and I patiently waited at the family restroom door hoping this one was clean so I can change my baby girl before she started to get fussy because she was dirty. Once available I went inside and to my surprise it was just as dirty. I was shocked because who is putting their babies of any age on these filthy things!!
Okay now the food… so we arrived at a decent time, around 5:30ish the place was busy but not as busy as it was the last time we came on a Sunday. Most of the food was already cold. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and think the ac had something to do with it and by the time we got to the tables it wold have cooled down, but I tested that and took a bite of my food right as I put it on my plate… and it was indeed cold. Everything was too salty , literally everything like the cook went salt happy today. The banana pudding tasted chemical like the whipped cream was bad or something. The plates and silverware were dirty and has food chunks still on them. Every other one we grabbed had to be put back.
After a while we learned to pick through certain foods that was semi okay. .. after all we did spend $86 on 3 adults, 2 children and an infant so we had to make it work. ..
Although I loved me some Golden Corral, I believe it is time for us to stay away...
Read moreIt’s been years since before Covid I’ve been to a Golden Corral. If you’re hesitant, come back! We came right at opening and were able to get first pick of all the fresh food. I tried to get a taste of most all the proteins so that I could leave a fair review. I’ll start with the Salisbury steak was overcooked and way too dry, even with the gravy. The meatloaf seemed to be a hit with others, as it was mostly gone right out the gate, but it was burnt on bottom so the flavor was off and was dry. All of the chicken items I tried (spicy ranch chicken, BBQ chicken, and shredded chicken in poultry gravy) and the pulled pork were prepared well and tender. The cornbread was prepared, I believe, with honey butter on top. The cornbread had the perfect amount of moisture and didn’t give that dry feel when swallowing. The fried okra was seasoned well and not overcooked, but the okra with stewed tomatoes fell flat. The dessert bar was impressive given the price of the buffet and everything I had was worth going back for, except the carrot cake, as it lacked the traditional amount of spice (the cream cheese frosting was spot on though). And my favorites were the chocolate pie, as it was a pie crust baked with a brownie inside, filled with a whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate and the warm bread pudding! Overall I give it a 7/10, but I would return to this same location. The server, Gladys, and the manager were both helpful. My mother really appreciated some white chocolate type fudge that they had and he was trying to help us find out what exactly was in it, but we were all...
