I was really hoping to find a good Chinese buffet. I was severely disappointed. First, any restaurant that offers a 10% discount for a five star Google rating is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. You go inside and they ask if you’re going to eat here or take out. No smile, no greeting, just typical lifeless stares. It’s not a big restaurant so there’s not a lot of choices but there’s enough to qualify as a Buffet. I wanted to try as many items as I could and ended up returning to the serving tables 4 times. The first time I started with soup. Unfortunately, I spilled a little on the table (See the photo). Hot and sour was OK as was the fried rice, salmon and the watermelon was exceptional. Many items were signed incorrectly and the sushi had no signs whatsoever. They have a warning saying if you have questionable health don’t eat the raw fish. Without labels, who knows what is fish and what is it. When I returned with my first refill plate, my old plate was gone but do you think they would clean up the mess on the table? Noooooooooo! The beef was horrendous. It was tough, tasteless and full of gristle. I would have enjoyed the barbecued rib but they only gave you a fork and no knife so eating it caveman style was the only option. Of the 12 to 14 items that I tried, most of them were not hot and there was a lot of room for improvement. They had a high number of seafood items such as crab, shrimp and salmon, which is probably the reason why they highball the price. There is no senior discount and no military discount. One positive point is that I did not walk away and have intestinal distress like I did from that other Chinese buffet I mention below. The room looks like it needed a makeover with paint, flooring and other touchups about 10 years ago. The employees could use some customer service training. The buffet off I-45 near Hobby Lobby was also a bust. I think for the foreseeable future, I’m going to stick to the “cooked to order” Chinese food at a regular sit down restaurant.

What can I say about East Buffet that hasn't already been said. The service was great. My water was never low and my empty plate was always gone before I got back. food is fairly on-par for most Asian buffets, the selection is smaller than most others, the place looks like it has some miles on it, and the selection is smaller than a lot of the other Asian Buffets in the surrounding Conroe/North Houston area. That being said, we did enjoy our meal here. Bourbon chicken is a hit or miss at most buffets, and while their chicken was a bit on the fattier side (to be expected with bulk purchased dark meat) the flavor was on point, the noodles and fried rice were all made well, and the included option of a slice of cheesecake for desert is a nice addition I have not seen for an Asian buffet before. Personally, I was not a fan of the seafood options, but they weren't all bad. All and all, it is a little bit cheaper than some of the other Asian buffets in the area, but honestly, I would rather pay a little extra for higher quality ingredients and more options, which is why I probably won't be coming back.

We paid $13.59/person for the lunch buffet. They did not have prices posted but as the last menu picture 7 months ago was $12.99 the $0.50 increase was within expectations. They also have a sign on their door about getting 10% off for rating them "5+" which makes me question the validity of some of their reviews. That said, I told them I was leaving a review and they gave us the discount without asking What my review was so there is that. The waitresses were very prompt on drink refills and removing plates. The sushi tasted really good. Though the selection was lacking compared to many buffets, I would say what they did have was better than many others. The crab cheese Rangoons have a different filling. It was sweeter than regular cream cheese and made it taste like more of a dessert. It seemed to be the same filling as the stuffed mushrooms. The soft serve machine worked and they had raspberry sauce to put on it for a unique touch.

I would like to start by saying I have loved in Conroe for 4 years now and my family and I have ate here multiple times throughout the years and have never had a experience like this before with this establishment.

Today my sister and I and my sister’s friend decided to go eat here for lunch. My sister and her friend went in before me so I am not speaking about the experience before I arrived to the restaurant. When I got there I sat and got my food and talked with my sister for a bit. My mom called and we did put her on speaker and although we only on the phone for about 1-2 minutes i would say we was a bit “loud” which when i noticed i told my sister to quiet down and from then on we talk in a low tone or wasn’t talk at all. The first instance was our waiter comes and takes a couple plates she was then talking with my sister and her friend and then she left. Once she left she came back shortly with a check which confused me because I still had a plate of food and was actively still eating. She then asks us if we together or separated and we told me she leaves and comes back with the checks split how we needed. She then left again but came back two more time to ask how we were paying and picking up plates we weren’t even finished with yet. So at this point i am aggravated because It feels as if we are being rushed out and yet I am looking around and I don’t see any other waitresses doing this to their customers. So we got up and as we were going to paying the women is showing frustration as if we were not moving as fast as she wanted to. My sister was the first to pay and the lady kept asking her repeatedly is she was using apple pay in a rushing manner and then when my sister says yes she then proceeded to pull my sister by the arm to the machine and this is when i told her she does not have to put her hands on her which is when she just nods and smiles. I was then up to pay and she was also rushing me and as i was unlocking my card she kept asking many many times was i using apple pay and snatching my card once i told her no. Im not sure if maybe she was getting off of work and we were her last customers or what but it was a overall bad experience and I pray they will read this and change some behaviors so more customers are not feeling this way. I will not...

I feel like the restaurant is smaller but provided good food exactly like the other buffets. I’ve been here a over a year ago, but everything is just as nice. I’ve been to Kioku buffet, just down the street twice over the last year. The total for one person was $16.88 without a tip, while Kioku was slightly over $20.

If you have a large family going here might be worth it because it’s exactly the same food and just as good. Slightly less different dishes.

I’ve been to Ni’s Chinese buffet over a year ago, near Incredible Pizza just south, but the food wasn’t good. Nothing there tasted great.

I think my least favourite thing was the stuffed mushrooms. I went strait for the sushi first thing because I wanted to get stuffed on rice first, everything was good over all. I really like some of the red meats dishes like the ribs, porks and beef. I like trying everything, there is a lot of choices, but I really like the Clam with the chopped crab meat mix. There wasn’t a ton of vegetables but lots of fruit on the end. I also really like the seaweed and side dishes for the sushi. They constantly kept making more things and were busy in the kitchen. I think of Korean, Japanese and Chinese. I like the music choice. The building is cleanly redone, even though the outside looks old part of the city.

I didn’t eat all day really so thank you for letting me stay and write the review. They give 10% off for the review so I was more than happy to tip 10%.

Even though I ate more than my fair share, I didn’t feel rushed to leave. The waiters seemed pretty nice. I read another persons review and realized the cheese cake is in a fridge cooler by the door. It doesn’t look great, but it tastes better than the ice cream.

While this isn’t a 5 star restaurant, it doesn’t cost $100 for a meal. The floors and other small repairs will probably eventually get repaired if more people come. 5 star Value dinner. If your feeling healthier I always like to go to Jason’s Deli for a...
