To whom it may concern: I am a UCF alumni and veteran of the food service industry. I spent years working at the Outback at the Florida Mall which is where I met my wife. I was in the area to move my daughter out of her dorm room. I made the decision to have my wife and 2 daughters dine in your establishment. The final bill was roughly $80 and we paid the waitress 22% for her service (which was great).
After I paid the bill my wife asked for a ramekin of ranch to accompany our left overs. Shortly after the waitress returned and said that her manager was requiring she charge us fifty cents for the ranch. She profusely apologized and said it was her mangers decision.
I willingly paid the fee and requested to speak with the manager. A short while later I met with a female who advised it was company policy to charge for the ranch. I made it clear I thought that was a terrible business decision and requested a card. She left and approximately 15 minutes later, returned with a card of her GM in the name of Ryan Wilkerson.
I requested to know her name and she advised her name was Dibble. I asked if she had a first and last name and she insisted her full legal name was just Dibble. She also offered no solutions or suggestions for my issue other than to say it’s corporate policy.
I have been in this industry for almost 2 decades. This is the most absurd encounter I have ever experience. The need to charge for dairy products etc makes sense, but adding an additional charge of .50 after an $80 bill is preposterous. Even more so, when I challenged the fee and expressed my frustration, you couldn’t comp $0.50. “It’s policy”. Really? Good customer tips 22% and screw that guy we need his .50? Dibble is clearly an inexperienced manger in training who probably needs to be talked to about comping 50 cents vs the other comps she likely gave on the same night.
I have never been more frustrated with a restaurant I was previously proud to take friends and family to. I do not want any compensation I just wanted you to know your inexperienced key wait staff cost you my business. Insane over 50 cents from a place with a $30 steak frites in the...
Read moreCame here 2/1 to enjoy happy hour with 2 friends (all our first time) before a show at the additions arena. Our server was Matt, he was very attentive, checked us on often and consistently asked if we needed anything and when I say consistent it was not overbearing. I loved it. The only downfall is he didn’t catch on to my complaints. The drinks, I had 3 drinks the martinis were 10/5 no complaints/perfect although I feel like my lemon drop was a little short (hence the picture) the margarita I had not so much it was overfilled with ice to the point the ice was over the rim. 3/4 sips and it was gone. ( no pic I didn’t care to take one) But my food was by far the worse. I had the garlic Parmesan boneless chicken wings which were half priced During happy hour. It literally looked like I got the crumbs from off the bottom of the bag you know when you’re dumping it cause it’s the last to empty. I did complain to Matt our server which I said it look like I got crumbs while picking through it with my fork but he did nothing and didn’t catch on. My 2 friend girls I came with don’t like when ppl complain and send stuff back etc. so I didn’t do the most would have been nice if he offered to replace it for me buttttt if I had paid full price my friends would have had to deal with it. One of my friend girls ordered the same thing she was satisfied with hers as hers did not look like mine she got chunks and no crumbs (shrugs shoulders). Please coach the kitchen staff not to serve crumbs. Matt was great but pay attention to what the customer is saying and ask further questions when hearing a complaint and most of...
Read moreLast year we visited one of the other locations and liked the place so much that we decided to go back this year. We are from out of state and like to go places we don't have back home. I normally don't leave reviews unless they're positive, however I'm still not sure if our experience tonight was just a simple error, or something that happens often. We came in late due to an event we had all day today. We ordered our food and hubby wanted a few drinks. Our waitress was very friendly. Hubby enjoyed his food, mine was ok, too. I guess my biggest complaint happened when we were given our total. It was wayyyy more than what we were expecting. I probably should have spoken up right away, but I was trying to add everything up in my head. When given receipt options my husband chose "print" but still didn't receive a receipt. Not 5 minutes later we located our waitress and explained that we thought our bill was wrong. She said she couldn't print a receipt for us and wanted to know what we thought the issue was. I told her that unless my husband drinks were way more expensive than what we had anticipated, which she confirmed they were not, then I don't see how our bill was $23 more than what I was adding up. So she asked how much we wanted back. We were told that maybe one of our meals were added twice, but neither of us had a $23 meal. In the end she gave us a portion of the overage back from her own tips (which part of me felt bad for that), but I just hate that we couldn't even see a receipt to know exactly what...
