I made this reservation on August 11, 2021. I wasn't informed until November 6th that the hotel was under construction. Our arrival day was November 11th. In addition to the construction it was difficult to find the front desk area. There were no clear directions so we had to ask one of the construction workers. I'm going to list the issues because this email would be really really long if I describe everything that was wrong with our room. I complained about the Wi-Fi on the first night, I was given a phone number to technical support by Alia. I also went down to the front desk to ask about possibly getting another room. I was informed that there were only 2 rooms and that they were the same. We wanted a studio room but got a 2 room suite. I expressed my disappointment in the cleanliness of the room or the lack thereof to Alia. I suggested to her that a manager or somebody could come to the room to see the issues that I found in the room. My husband and I are newly fans of Marriott Residence Inn. In the last couple of months in we had stays in St Louis and Minnesota. We were highly impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and professionalism at these locations. That was not the same for our recent visit in Florida. I received an email from the manager of the hotel Loudy Ocean the next morning, the same person who sent us the email on November 6th regarding the construction. Ms. Loudy was apologetic and gave us a significant amount of points for our stay but never came to the room to see the issues I we had with the room which is what I requested. Because it's the Marriott Residence Inn we didn't think that the construction would be a problem and for us it wasn't. It was the accommodation itself that was horrible. That points was not enough to make us happy with the accommodation. It would be a dishonor not to make Marriott Resident Inn representatives aware of the condition of our room. Loudy Ocean didn't seem to think that the matter warranted a visit so she didn't come. In fact no one came manager or otherwise. My husband and I felt defeated. We were not informed of the construction in a reasonable enough time to arrange accommodation elsewhere and we weren't offered a refund to make such a quest feasible. The following are issues: A strong smoky smell in the room. Wifi constantly stopped working. Stove, sink, tables and walls were dirty. The entire couch was dirty. The bed felt like queen and not a king. There were very...
Read moreI wouldn’t want to stay here for more than one or two nights. The staff was very pleasant and since I checked in through the app we were able to get our key immediately. The room was awkwardly set up, but workable.
The hotel is clean and there are a lot of things not available due to Covid. Breakfast is a to go bag (only thing left at 8:30am was 3 bags of oatmeal) and there is not even coffee in the lobby. I have stayed in other hotels where they had a server behind plexiglass and they put together fresh food for you following guidelines.
The room had a coffee pot, but the supplies we had were depleted. I had to go to the front desk to get coffee and since there is no actual breakfast buffet, there was no real milk or creamer, just the powdered stuff. Again, there wasn’t any of that as well as only one packet of sugar in our room. I ended up waking to the nearby racetrack for creamer.
There was also no housekeeping service on short stays, which wasn’t a huge deal. They would replace towels if you called, but people were left to leave their trash out in the hall to be picked up which was kinda gross.
The toilet in our room had an issue and it wouldn’t flush 1/2 the time. I did tell the front desk on our departure so the next person staying in the room didn’t have to deal with it. I do have to say that the water pressure in the shower was great, but again only one bar of soap and with no housekeeping you had to call to get more toiletries.
Covid issues aside, this place is fine for a quick visit, but wouldn’t want an...
If you value your money, your time, and your integrity do not travel to the Residence Inn Marriott UCF Area. The experience me and my party received from this Hotel and its staff was beyond unimaginable, and really turned things around for us and the Marriot Brand. Trying to present the situation to Management was a lost cause. A verbal conversation was avoided on several occasions. Instead, we received threats, and accusations against our character, and were told that we should feel privileged that we were allowed to stay there, via email (and please make note that we were the only African Americans there). Calling Corporate and making a complaint did not soften the blow, but only made things worse from Management, were further emails were received instead of a phone call, as corporate policy states. All of this over a single noise complaint. It is not by surprise that many situations take place at Hotels all over the globe, and that certain policies and procedures are in place to handle those situations, but rest assure that the Staff of this hotel choose not to follow those procedures and choose to take manners into their own hands, literally by threatening to kick us out in the cold, with no prior warnings. Never have we traveled to an establishment, where being prejudice was allowed. I think it goes without saying that we will no longer patronize this Hotel and the Marriott Brand, where they don’t put...
