I’ve been patiently waiting for this establishment to open, and the day finally arrived. We stopped by on a Friday night of their opening week.
The parking lot has limited parking but we were able to find space on the opposite side of the shopping center. Upon arrival, the restaurant was super busy, outside seating was completely full, however we were able to find seating inside with no wait. We were approached right away by our waitress Jackie. She was attentive, and had a pleasant attitude throughout our night. The managers also walked around and greeted us multiple times! AMAZING customer service!
The decor is very unique! It’s like Cracker Barrel, Saltgrass, Mad Max and Bourbon street all came together to have a decor baby lol… it’s quirky, overwhelming, antique, bright, fun, and strange lol….the inside of the restaurant was a bit smokey, I’m hoping this was a just a one off and not something to be expected during each visit.
The live music was phenomenal, the young lady who performed had beautiful vocals, and she entertained the crowd very well. They also have a VW cart that goes around the restaurant with free shots. Not sure if this is a regular occurrence or if it was just for the grand opening.
The menu is vast! Although I wanted to try multiple items, I had already had my mind set on trying the octopus. I ordered El Pirata Especial which comes with grilled octopus, and oysters (I ordered them grilled). The octopus was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The texture is similar to calamari or scallops. The oysters were also flavorful and paired well with the Vuelve a la vida cocktail.
Overall, I enjoyed the experience! Their food and restaurant culture is unique and that sets them a part from other restaurants in their...
Read moreThe worst seafood I have ever been cursed to eat... We tried the place because my wife wanted "crab fingers". I ordered the big tex (x2) seafood plate with fried fish, fried shrimp, and fries. My wife ordered the battered and fried crab fingers (1lb). She verified 3 times we wanted fried, because there are 3 options on how to order them. The crab fingers came out sauteed in a spicy sauce. They offered to correct the order, but when the correct order came out, they were tough and tasted as if they may have been spoiled. We said nevermind, and they took the order back.
Meanwhile the 2 fried fish plates we ordered has been delivered... And I have never had such a disgusting excuse for seafood presented to me. The shrimp was chewy, dry, and tasted spoiled. The fish also tasted spoiled and was dry with a chalky texture. The fish and shrimp batter has no flavor at all... I have literally never had fish prepared so poorly. This was below fast-food quality for $20 per person???
We spoke with the manager, he didn't seem to comprehend how repulsive the food was... I even offered him to try a bite of the untouched portion of our food (which was a majority). In the end. I only payed $22 for 4 bites of disgusting, dry, spoiled seafood and 1 soda.
There is absolutely no way that the positive reviews are legitimate for this place... This was the worst seafood I have ever had BY FAR. I'm sure mcdonalds could prepare better seafood...
On a side note... the table was disgusting and sticky... But somehow this was the least of...
Read moreBased off the photos they were posting I thought for sure this place would have pricey dishes because they look pretty but would taste like $10. I was wrong. We got the mixed fajitas combo for 2 which was only $40.
This dish has a seafood combo along with the usual beef and chicken. I don’t like octopus because it’s usually like chewing leather. This octopus AND calamari was tender and tasted delicious!! Making me want to get the big octopus fajitas meal next time!
We also got the 4 Amigas app. The cocktail, ceviche, and queso (especially the queso) was gas! It didn’t come with more tostadas or crackers, which it should. I ordered more tostados and was charged $2 more. The guacamole though needed more lime, salt, and cilantro and was more creamy than chunky..
The waiters were hit and miss. I can see some were confused what and where tables were. And we had to call out for assistance a couple times. Though after that they were pretty attentive.
We got premium margaritas and they...
