So first, when I want korean BBQ I go to gen. I have been going to gen for years even back in LA. So few days ago I had a party of 30 people. It was for my wife's graduation. So the Friday before mother's day (in may) I ate there with my family and I reserved June 5th for 30 people. I called the day before and they said I had no reservation. Even though I saw them write in the book. I mean they got my name and phone number. Then they told me the reservations was made for the the June 4th not the 5th. My wife and I were both there to make the reservation. So there wouldn't be no mistake on our part. But Ann was able to make it happen, so thank you. So here the situation, we had the one side for my whole party. They knew that I was the point man because I came first. They have one server and a bust boy to help. My table got it's first order, and probably waited about 30 mins to get another order in. Two of the tables (of course my guest) was getting their orders like it was going out of style. I didnt get rice for my table for over a hour. It was the worst experience Ii have ever had there. So why did I give it a five star review. Look I not shitting on the waitress or the bust boy. I think the system needs to be changed for big parties. I mean how do you not have rice? So there new manager Thomas who just took over saw me go to the bathroom etc. He asked me how things are going. I said it was fine. Didn't really want to throw anyone under the bus. It wasn't like the waitress was sitting on her ass. I saw her hustling, I think the system needs to be change. I feel like I would have asked for a show of hands for those that wanted rice. Get that second after the sides. After I was paying the bill with a shit load of gift cards. The new manager and I got to talking. He was very up front with me and why he was there.i really appreciate his honesty and his sympathy for what happen after I told him. He told me he was there to change things. So I give him the 5 star review. I have high hopes for that location....

The worst service we've had at a restaurant in a long while. We sat down and the waiter told us he would be right back, then after 6 minutes of waiting the first of 3 managers took our order. Finally, when the waiter came to our table we were told the service and drinks would be slow. That's fine, no problem. Except, our waiter then decided to give his full attention to all of the other tables around us and basically ignore us for the rest of our time there (which was short anyway). Our typical food items came out, but we never received our appetizers even after ordering them twice. Our drinks didn't come until 2 minutes before getting up to leave. And, our waiter continued to bring drinks constantly to the other tables. A pair of our chopsticks had fallen off the table so we had to sit there, not being able to eat our food and wait for a random lady to come by and give us more, all the while the third manager walked past twice looking at us and not asking if we needed help. Oh, and can't forget the hair that was in our raw food that we didn't see until cooking it 🤢 So in the end, barely had a server, terrible food, terrible time. NOT WORTH THE $67 WE WERE CHARGED FOR THE ACTUAL 12 SMALL ITEMS WE BARELY ATE AND WE WERE ONLY THERE FOR MAYBE 30 MINUTES TOP. Even told our issues to the second manager before leaving and all he did was nod his head and say thank you (??) Not to mention, got home and called to complain again so atleast no one else would end up with the same experience we did and got told there was nothing that could be done. Just basically, "we're sorry the experience you had was not up to your standards". Last bit for everyone to know as well, REGARDLESS OF IF YOU ORDER ANY FOOD OR NOT, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR JUST SITTING DOWN. THAT IS WHAT WE WERE TOLD BY THE MANAGER. THE COST YOU PAY IS BASED ON HEADCOUNT, NOT THE AMOUNT OF FOOD YOU ORDER. SO IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO EAT...

I guess you have to be Latin to get good service. Our waitress seemed to have an attitude with us but was happily speaking in Spanish to the tables behind us and in front of us . Mind you we go to Korean BBQ all the time and live in Nevada. We were a party of Two adults , a teenager , and two kids and they sat us at a table really fit for 2 but since it was Valentine's Day we didn't complain. She cleared the plates from our table twice, it took other waiters to walk by and see we weren't being serviced and they did what they could ( changing out burners, clearing the plates that once held raw meat, and filling our waters ) . We got half of what we asked for and we didn't ask for much. The bill came and guess what it said ? 4 adults and two kids . We had her make the correction and she still made a mistake by putting 4 adults and 1 child. She brought us the correct receipt with no book to hold the receipt and debit card. One of the dishes {fried Calamari} we asked for was already brought to us , so she brought out another one and put it on our table , we said we already received it but we can take these to go and she hurried up and picked the food up and walked with us to the register because i guess she wanted to see if she was going to get a tip before deciding to give it to us even though we breathed all on it basically lol , she seen she wasn't getting a tip from the debit receipt not knowing we were going to tip her in cash and hurried and plopped the food on the latin family's table and told them they can have it. I understand Spanish and the family told their kids what it was and they said they didn't want it and laughed at the thought of octopus etc. Long story short, I've had better service at Hanu, Captain 6, Biwon, and a few others that are always busy. I do not recommend this place unless you're Latino because clearly that's who the waitresses cater...

I don't know how I haven't reviewed this place because I've eaten here for YEARS. This is my go-to place to take people who grew up in the Midwest and South without many Asian options. It's always a trip because they are blown away by the all-you-can-eat meat for like $30 a person. As I have Celiac disease, I can't eat anything marinated or fried here because they contain gluten from barley and wheat ingredients. I love GEN because you cook it yourself at the grill inset into your own table to prevent cross contact. I bring my own gluten-free soy sauce and they're always super accommodating for me. I always ask for my dish of sesame oil and green tea salt to be brought out with no soy sauce. I request the salad without dressing, the radish paper and potato salad as unfortunately the banchan that I used to eat before my celiac disease diagnosis all contains gluten. I miss eating their fish cake and bulgogi the most. We always get brisket, pork belly, premium steak and corn cheese. Once I'm done ordering and I'm stuffed to the gills, my husband will order some items with gluten to grill for himself to prevent me from being cross-contaminated. The last 3 times we went through, my husband's Korean fried chicken appetizer has been overcooked. While this isn't the highest end all-you-can-eat Korean bbq in town, it's incredibly affordable and they're accommodating for my celiac disease, which I appreciate. Latest visit: December 2024
