No One Told Me This Before I Went to Las Vegas!

The decor was very much what I would expect from a steak house. The service was slow, by the time the server came by to get our drink order, we were ready to order our food. Unfortunately, our server did not come by as often as I would normally have expected and was not very personable. The mood in the place was sullen. It seemed as if there was a complete lack of enthusiasm and energy. I got this feeling from the staff, which in turn carried out into the dining experience. I had the 3 course lunch special. To start was a ceaser salad, it was really good, a good healthy portion with fresh lettuce and parmesean cheese. Presented well with the croutons evenly distributed. The dressing was portioned perfectly for the volume of salad and mixed well. Beef wellington was the second course. The presentation was nice, a wipe of mash potatoes, then a wipe of sauce leading to the beef wellington. Some vegetables were added above to complete the artistic flair. The beef wellington was tender but overcooked. It was rare in the very center but well for the rest. Lastly, the toffee pudding. Yum! Was absolutely delicious. Soft and fluffy with delicious caramel topped with ice cream. I had brought my parents in with me for a treat. My mother ordered the Shepard pie and a pint of Guinness. She requested HP sauce to go with the Shepard pie, but the restaurant did not have any (Really? No HP in a British restaurant!) When she received her food, a sauce was provided but was terrible. Really sharp with three distinct flavors that were overpowered. I think the cook attempted to make her own HP sauce, I did notice her come out of the kitchen to observe. The attempt of the cook to please the customer was not lost on me and was very much appreciated. My father had the filled mignon with mashed potato. He asked if they had a stuffed potato but was informed that there was only mashed. The server did offer a second toffee pudding for my parents to share on the house. Overall, it was a decent experience. With all the negative aspects I mentioned above. There was one really positive part of the experience that made the difference. The cook! Going out of her way to try and make a sauce, the restaurant should have had but did not. Coming out to see our experience and providing a second desert to make our experience better. If it wasn't for the cook, my overall and service rating would have been much lower. Thanks to the cook for keeping the spark of care and passion alive in an otherwise dreary experience. Unfortunately, I missed taking a picture of the wellington.

Updated Review (see below for 1st review several years ago) 2nd Review - Mixed Review with a Strange Twist or Inconsistent at Best! SHORT STORY = Busy Time the Food and Service were GREAT! Slow Time the Food and Service were simply OK. LONG STORY / Strange Twist = It's illogical, Great Experience in Busy Times and just OK in Slow Times. How can our experience change from one day to the next? Let me explain. We went to Gordon's Pub twice in 2 days. 1st Day there were 5 of us on Saturday afternoon with reservations. The restaurant was FULL and CRAZY busy but it was organized excitement! We ordered Nachos to share, 4 Burgers and 1 NY Strip. We all said the burgers were simply GREAT! I mean TOP 10 burgers for sure. They were seasoned perfect and grilled to perfection. Seriously a FANTASTIC Classic Burger with very good fries too (shared 2 orders). The Nachos and Steak were very good too. The service was SPECTACULAR...we were amazed to see the staff actually almost running to serve the tables. I have a feeling the management was watching or they just had a team improvement meeting. In any event, we have never seen any service team moving so fast! It was like an orchestra. On Sunday, just my wife and I went back at 4:45pm. We didn't make any reservations for dinner so we were walking by the restaurant and noticed that it was only about 20% full. We decided on a late lunch / early dinner. We were seated immediately but directly next to the waiters station and right next to one of the only other occupied table. It was one of the bench seats on one side of the table and a chair on the other side. We had to be careful not to hit the other table while we sat down on the bench seat. The waiters station didn't appear to be used so I didn't ask for another table. However near the middle of Lunch a person began to fold Napkins and talking to others at the station. It really was annoying and was senseless as 60 to 80% of the tables were empty. In hindsight, I should have asked for a other table. I agreed to go back to this restaurant as I always wanted to try Gordon's Beef Wellington. I ordered a special that included "Cheese and Ale soup" and a Toffee cake. The "GOOD" was the soup and cake. The "OK" was the Beef Wellington. It was delivered luke warm which was acceptable but at the end was cold. The mashed potatoes were dry and a little hard. So...I imagine the plate sat near a heat lamp too long. My wife ordered a NY Strip that was perfect but her Fries were over cooked and only warm. About half way in the meal, our waiter asked about the meal, I told him I always wanted to try Beef Wellington and was disappointed. I told him my meal was cool and not too good. He seemed uninterested, said something low enough that I couldn't understand and walked away. So...based on my experience, I suggest to go at busy times, order burgers "or" be prepared for a "Hit or Miss!" 1st Review - Nothing spectacular. This is for the name only. There were 8 of us and 6 ordered Burgers and Fries and not one finished their burger. I gave it a 3 because the service was very good. Gordan needs to make changes. For good burgers and less $ try Burgers and Brassieres in the mall between Paris and Bally's.

# Review: Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace Las Vegas **A Hidden Gem on the Las Vegas Strip!** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As Henderson locals who frequently explore Strip dining options, we've discovered something special at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill in Caesars Palace. This restaurant absolutely outshines its more famous sibling, Hell's Kitchen, in every way possible. ## The Experience We visited on a Sunday around 11 AM and were immediately seated thanks to our online appointment (which required a credit card deposit—a small gamble that paid off wonderfully). The restaurant's decor captures that perfect balance of upscale British pub charm with Las Vegas sophistication. ## Service The staff deserves special recognition. Our servers were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and provided that perfect level of service—present when needed but never hovering. They guided us through the menu with expertise and genuine enthusiasm for the food. ## The Food We focused on Gordon's signature dishes, and they didn't disappoint: The fish and chips were simply extraordinary—crispy golden batter encasing perfectly moist, flaky fish that practically melted in our mouths. Hands down the best fish and chips I've ever experienced. The cottage pie was another standout: tender, flavorful pot roast filling crowned with the creamiest, most perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes. Each bite offered comfort food perfection elevated to gourmet status. ## Drinks My spicy margarita brought just the right amount of heat balanced with citrus freshness, while my husband's whisky sour was expertly crafted with the perfect balance of flavors. ## Final Verdict For Vegas locals and visitors alike, Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill is an absolute must-visit that surpasses expectations. It's remarkably superior to Hell's Kitchen in quality, value, and overall experience. After countless Strip restaurant experiences, this one stands out as truly exceptional. Don't miss this culinary treasure during your Vegas adventures!

Our visit to Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill was nothing short of delightful! We popped in for a quick snack before heading to a concert, and the experience really hit the spot. 🎶 The pub has that perfect balance of casual yet sophisticated, making it a great place to unwind before or after an event. We decided to go with the classic fish and chips, and wow—so good! 🐟🍟 The fish was perfectly crispy, and the mushy peas on the side were a nice touch. My only recommendation would be a little more fish and a bit fewer fries, but the flavor made up for that! Everything tasted fresh, with a nice blend of textures. We also ordered the lobster mac and cheese, and I have to say, it was truly outstanding. 🦞🧀 Creamy, rich, and indulgent—definitely the kind of comfort food you crave in Vegas. To wash it all down, we had a couple of beers 🍻 and a vodka cocktail 🍸. The drink selection was great, with a nice variety to choose from. The vibe in the pub was spot-on for relaxing before a night out. It’s lively without being too loud, and it felt like the perfect spot to fuel up before hitting the concert scene. As for the service, it was exceptional! Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He even made a small mistake with our order, bringing an extra beer 🍺 that we didn’t ask for, but to our surprise, he didn’t charge us for it! A small gesture, but it left a great impression. 👌 One thing to keep in mind: the prices are fairly reasonable for Vegas, which can be on the expensive side anyway. 💸 All in all, Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill offers a great mix of delicious food, excellent service, and an inviting atmosphere. I’d recommend it whether you're grabbing a quick bite before a show or looking for a laid-back meal in the middle of the action at Caesars Palace. Would definitely come back! 😊

The restaurant is beautiful. Dim lighting, The bar is properly placed, and I loved the area where we sat with the high bar tables and bar stools. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon. Thank goodness because the seating was completely wide open! First we were seated at a table right at the entrance and it was wobbly. We moved to another location because the restaurant was not even half-full. Therefore when our food arrived, I was surprised when my fries were barely warm, they were like room-temperature! I asked a waiter walking by to please get me a new order of fries because these were barely room temperature. A new waiter came back within a minute and brought me another order of fries. As a matter of fact the second order was not hot either. The burger was decent. I did not receive that wow sensation when I bit into the cheeseburger. Would I go back there again? Probably not. A cheeseburger and fries or in this case chips, is very basic! If you cannot get that correct, during a time of day when the restaurant is not even half-full, then no it would not be worth my time to go back and try it again. However, my son truly enjoyed his fish and chips and also his beef wellington! He even gave the waiter an outrageously large tip! Our waiter really lucked out. When your wait staff does not come and ask a couple of times how your meal is, and you do you need anything, or come by and fill your water, or whatever beverage you had, in my case it was a diet Coke as usual. That is called average if not poor service. AND, my food was Not served hot! Had I left the tip it would have been average like the service and my food. Hopefully if any of you decide to go there or have already been there for dinner, you had a much better experience with service and food. CAB 😉
