The girl and I dined here on Christmas night. We had been looking forward to this dinner for several weeks. The menu certainly sounded tempting! I was very interested to try the fries after reading so many reviews that claimed they were unbelievable, the best fries ever. What does Bobby Flay do to make these fries so amazing, I wondered. I like to be constructive and fair, so I'd like to say: The room is gorgeous. The hostesses were friendly and courteous. My wife's grapefruit martini was outstanding. Everything else was an enormous disappointment. We started with the shrimp cocktail with smoked chile cocktail sauce. It arrived with incredible speed. The shrimp were good, but the sauce was bland, and had never come within 500 yards of a smoked chile. It was topped with grated horseradish which was completely flavourless. Our entrees arrived before we'd even had a chance to finish the appetizer. I got salmon, she chose black bass. Hers was ok, just on the cusp of dryness, but not terrible. My salmon tasted all right, but was overcooked. The honey mustard sauce it came with tasted suspiciously like it came from a bottle, and the green onions that were supposed to finish the dish were lacking. The fries. Bobby Flay's fantastic, unbelievable fries. They were shoestring fries, from a box, most likely from Sysco. We didn't bother with dessert, mostly because our server, who clearly had somewhere else to be, was pushing us so hard to be done. He was horrible. Brusque, indifferent, unfriendly, he stopped just short of outright rudeness. We had been anticipating a nice, leisurely dining experience. Our reservation was at 7:00 pm. We were presented with the bill just before 7:30. Seriously. This kind of shabby, contemptuous, turn and burn service is completely unacceptable. Yes, we get it. We're supposed to be overawed that a couple of lowlife plebs like ourselves were even allowed through the hallowed doors of Chef Flay's gastronomic temple, and we should just shut up and hand over our money. But that's just not good enough, I'm afraid. I won't be back, and I won't set foot in any other Bobby Flay...

It was my birthday! My husband made the reservation. When we arrived, we were greeted by Candice the hostess. She was very welcoming, and she already knew it was my birthday! She had a beautiful smile, and was very kind. When we got to the table, there was a happy birthday card waiting for me! I thought my husband finally knew how to impress me with a good surprise! It wasn’t from him, but instead, it was from The staff! I received a handwritten, happy birthday card that felt very sincere! Our Servers name was also Candice! I have never… And I mean, never received better service from anywhere in my entire life! Candice was very knowledgeable about the wine list and the food menu! She offered me certain dishes with wine, pairing and beer pairing! Not only that, She sent two glasses of champagne over to us to toast for my birthday! I didn’t even know she was gonna do that… When we were going over wine, pairing and appetizers, she slipped in certain questions, and figured out what I like! Who does that? The food… THE FOOD! I had the best, macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had in my entire life! I’m 36 and I have tried mac & cheese from Kraft mac & cheese, Velveeta, homemade from every culture! This mac & cheese was so good! I ordered the steak and fries… No words honestly! The double baked french fries were an entire entrée on its own! We also had the mashed potatoes, which are some of the best mashed potatoes you’ll ever eat! My husband did the bass, and he was silent during the entire meal! He for sure got his money worth! I am not a cheap date on my birthday! I eat what I want, and he didn’t even complain! He never complains, because he knows happy wife happy life! I felt like I knew Bobby himself! You will have a very good and happy and memorable experience here! I will be eating here for my birthday every single year! I also had the apple Tart dessert… I could be saying that wrong, but it was delicious with this ginger ice cream… I can still taste the ginger ice cream! It’s delicious! I finished everything!
