We were seated right away upon entering even though the place looked busy, we were a party of 2. We were seated at a small table with two chairs. The table was about the size of a cafe table. The table become crowded with our meals and drinks with little room left. We were greeted right away by our server, who never spoke to me due his lack of the English language. My husband speaks Spanish (I don't ) so all service went through him. A bit annoying, but I didn't allow that to bother me too much to cloud my dining experience. There are no hard copy menus only the QR code to access on your phone. Our drinks were brought promptly and our order was taken as expected. One appetizer we ordered was the empanadas. My husband asked how many come for the $1.75 price. It wasn't written in the description and the picture showed 2, so we asked for clarification. The waiter told my husband he'd bring 5, so I thought that was a great deal at $1.75. The appetizers, the empanadas and arepitas were average good. After we finished these, a lady with a tray of desserts came by our table asking if we wanted to take anything home. (She never mentioned price, so be careful if this first encountering this, it will be added to your bill). Not long after this, another lady with different desserts was going around with the same, stopping by our table. Both times they addressed, only my husband, ignoring me. Perhaps they don't speak English either? I dunno. Our meals came and the chicken soup was delicious but it would have been better if we had chicken in it. My husband and I share plates when going to a new place to sample the different foods. The steak was really good, I enjoyed the seasoning. About this time I needed a drink refill, but no waiter in sight. So, I tried the chicken. The flavor was not as strong as the steak and it tasted overcooked, not dry, but definitely slightly overcooked. The rice was presented heart shaped with a tiny red dot on the center, which to tasted like ketchup. Still waiting on the waiter for a drink refill. The yucca was not too bad, my personal preference would have been a bit softer, the seasoning/sauce was average good. Their version of what was like guacamole was better than the Mexican restaurants, imo. Very good. Ahh... finally get my water refill when my husband caught the waiter and asked him for it. We finished our meals and got the check. Once it was time to sign the slip, we had noticed a self-charged 18% tip added to our bill. We also noticed that the waiter failed to explain the empanadas cost $8.75 for the 5 and never told my husband this even when my husband was asking for clarification on it before we ordered. This was surprising, and neither one of us appreciated this, so we write a straight line through the "tip" line and walked out.
For us it was an average experience with some small negatives, but the tip added to bill and the lack of explanation of the cost of the empanadas was enough for us to discourage us from...
Read moreMy family and I came to visit Atlanta for the weekend to have a good time. We were searching for something to eat — and happened to have stumbled upon this restaurant. We decided to go after reading the amazing reviews, but even the reviews fooled us. After going inside we thought the place was beautiful, they even had live music going on which was nice — so we had very high expectations for this place. It just went downhill after we were seated. It took our waitress about 15 minutes for her to come take our drink orders and not very pleasant at all, from there it only got worse. From the time we were seated til’ the time our food arrived it took about 1 hour and 20 minutes...That was until my dad got up and asked the waitress how much longer on the food. The waitress then told us not too long. After complaining to the waitress we just told the waitress to cancel the order and only charge us for our drinks. Coincidentally our food ended up coming out. After shortly receiving our food the manager came out and apologized and even said it was “their fault.” It took us about 10 minutes to eat our meals, which was good btw, although the steak was too salty. As soon as we finished eating we asked for the check. Looking at our check, you’d think they would’ve discounted us on AT LEAST our drinks, nope. We decided not to complain afterwords about it because we didn’t want to wait ANOTHER hour to speak to the manager. Overall, the food was good and the vibe was nice. I suggest to get some training on the waitresses and staff as well. Manager could’ve done a little better on “satisfying the customer.” We are business owners in Savannah, so we know a lot about customer satisfaction and how the restaurant...
Read moreSix of us went to have dinner yesterday and were quite disappointed with the service we received, especially from our server: Luis. They didn't have any of the Weekend Specials available. They don't sell Colombian beer (why? other Colombian restaurants in the area do. No more excuses that it is not available for purchasing in the state of GA.) Additionally, he stated that he could not serve coffee because they ran out of coffee and he would have to go next door to their other restaurant and get it, but if he did that he would be fired (What? I have never heard such a thing.) I had to get up and speak to the owner to get 1 coffee served. We asked for empanadas as appetizer and he brought them after our food, after we asked someone else for them because he was nowhere to be found. They were already made because I could see them, so no excuse that they were being prepared. Luis did not come to check on us at all, and when I asked for Ketchup, he said they were all out of it. We also had to ask for our bill several times to different servers. UNBELIEVABLE!! And to top it all of, we had to pay the tip of 20% because they included it in our bill. He absolutely DID NOT DESERVE IT!!! I am Colombian and I am ashamed of this restaurant because it misrepresents our culture in every way. Too over priced for the quality of service. The owner or manager needs to go to every table and ask if everything is ok, because obviously, IT IS NOT OK. SERVICE SUCKS!!!...
