I love Penara. I used to drive out of my way to take the bagel packs to my associates. That was always the Kirkwood Hwy Penara. So, imagine my surprise when I was transferred to a location with a Penara within a 5 min walk! I was thrilled. Sadly, my delight has turn, quickly, to shear disappointment. My first visit yielded me a sandwich that was not made as ordered and an attitude when I pointed it out. I mean, I asked for extra of something already on the sandwich and got none. My 2nd visit I went to buy the bagel pack for my team. I arrived at 930am and found only 4 flavors of bagels and only chive and onion cream cheese available. When I inquired why? I was told, "talk to our suppliers, ma'am." I was so insulted I left with nothing. A week later I thought I'd try one more time. I arrived to work at 730 and stopped to grab 1 bagel. This time they had my bagel, but no cream cheese. Again, I left empty handed. I came in for a final visit. And as I type, this WILL be my last visit to this location. I waited at the register where the Assistant manager was waiting on a customer. She had finished and had stepped aside. He went to the back to get her a baget. While he was gone, an associate came from behind and rang up her lunch. She interrupted the cashier beside her to get her discount. She was in the process of paying when the ASM came back, and although the associate said the other cashier had taken care of the discount, he insisted on swiping his own card. This created an issue and so he had to start again and he then gave her a free lunch. She was thanking him and he finally took my order. I'd like to note they have 6 cookies today at this location. Pastries are also slim. They seem to be poorly managed on the staples that make Penara, Penara! I then sat down to wait. When I went to the counter to pick up my order it was in a bag. I said, "oh, in sorry. I am dining in." He said, "that's not what the ticket says." I said, "oh." And he scooped the bag up and placed it all on a plate and slid it toward me. There was no I apologize, or here ya go sorry about that. He chose to say nothing to me. I completed my lunch and decided I needed to say something. Not sure who with any authority reads these reviews, but I feel better having told someone. This Penara is horrible and does not understand why they...

During our recent lunch, we ordered the Duet Value Meals which include a thick, piled-high ham and cheese sandwich and chicken noodle soup for $7.99. Compare that wholesome meal option to the current price of a lackluster fast food burger in 2023.

Read moreMy wife and I went in there to eat before shopping on 4/11.2014 at about 7 pm. The experience started out with a particularly nasty girl named Chloe at the counter who asked us 'Are you going to order?' while we were looking at the menu in a tone that suggested 'or are you just going to stand there?'. And there was no one else near the counter but us! So we were certainly not blocking any other customers. It would be useful for the establishment to have some paper menus so customers can discreetly peruse and decide without annoying their staff. While ordering we handed the girl our Panera rewards card and the girl never told us that the card did not register until my wife informed her that she had received an email saying she could get a free pastry. AT THAT POINT the girl said 'your card is not registered at all'. So I asked her to put in my phone number which she did and my wife did get her pastry. And, to her credit, she did offer a replacement card. And then the girl proceeded to stare me down as if I was just an annoyance and not a valued customer! And, by the way, the French Onion Soup tasted like burnt ingredients with an overdose of salt. I generally like Panera Bread but this location seems to employ staff that are particularly lacking in 'customer service' attitude. Needless to say this is not our first unpleasant experience at the location. We go there as it is a convenient location in a shopping center. But maybe we won't anymore. We'll find some other establishment that might appreciate customers coming in...
