So this brand new Qdoba just opened up. Since I don't work in downtown Wilmington, this is a much more convenient location to me. Also, unlike their downtown Wilmington location, parking here is much easier and free of charge since it's in a strip mall. There are other improvements at this Qdoba location too, compared to the older one. The dining area decor is more up-to-date and spacious. That doesn't necessarily mean it's more comfortable since I'm not too fond of the chairs, but it's a start. Service was pretty good, in that they seemed willing to provide anything I asked for.
I want to like them for their food as well but such was not the case. Compared to Moe's, just on the other side of this shopping center, Qdoba has a rather limited range of toppings. I wish they had a lot more choices so that my taco salad runneth over, but it barely made it to the rim. On the plus side, there isn't an extra charge for guacamole. (You hear that, Chipotle?)
The Qdoba chain is hampered by the most user-unfriendly customer reward system in existence. You get points for your visit but only if you didn't use any coupons or discounts, which pretty much excludes all my visits. (People, I'm not made of money!) If you forgot to bring your Qdoba card, you have to ask for a claim ID on your receipt so you can enter it into the website later on for points. I forgot to ask for that and only realized later that I needed to. Why isn't the claim ID automatically added to each receipt? What possible abuse scenario could they be avoiding by not doing so? Fortunately, I noticed this before I left the restaurant so I was able to ask them for a reprint of the receipt with a claim ID. Of course, now I'm finding that the website does not accept the claim ID for reasons unknown. Qdoba sure isn't...
Read moreThird time coming in for DD pick up. Never a good experience, never once picked up an order. Always have to unassign the orders from this store which hurts my stats. Employees don't care and talk in a rude manner. Last few times they were giving me an estimated 5-45(!!!) minutes. Like what's going on? Unassigned. This time, they prefer to chit chat with each other about personal matters in front of the customers instead of making orders (Plus there is no music so you can hear everything). The counter girl with blond hair had her friend came over and started making her food right away skipping all other orders, plus being very slow because they were also discussing the personal stuff. Took her 10 minutes to make a burrito. When I asked her how much longer on my DD order, she wasn't even aware justifying it with the fact that she just came in to work. I asked her to speak to a manager, he started telling me that they have other orders to make and I asked him why there is no people who is making it and he started giving me lame excuses about another guy being on break. Meanwhile he is standing there and cutting peppers (and then he disappeared somewhere in the back) instead of making the orders himself as well. I think that if you are short on people and you see customers waiting, you should make the orders first and then prep the food. This is not how the business is done. If you can't fulfill the orders on time, why even have business with DD? Store owners should understand the policies. The ambiance of the place also could be better. Trashed bathrooms and sticky floor everywhere, absence of music - not a good vibe. Can't speak of the food quality, but with these disrespectful employees I don't think I will ever want to order food from this...
Read moreI went to this Qdoba last week and got a chicken quesadilla and the woman there (she may have been the manager, she’s short) act like she barely wanted to put chicken on it. So I asked for extra and I knew it would cost and I said that’s fine and she literally put 3 extra pieces on it. I said that’s it??? And she said you can add more for another extra $$$. I was not about to argue with her so I said okay. Why did my total end up coming to $18 when it’s initially around $11. The Qdoba at the Wilmington location is trash because yesterday I went to the Qdoba in Springfield, PA and when I tell you that was the best chicken quesadilla that was made it truly was. Not only did I get enough chicken WITHOUT paying damn near $20 or asking for extra chicken, the customer service between all the staff was amazing. That was my second time getting a quesadilla from that location and they did not disappoint. So I’m not going back to the location in Wilmington because the workers there clearly are trying to get over on you, so maybe the chicken coming out their paycheck idkkkk. All I know is overall my experience at Springfield was great. All the employees there are very nice and friendly and give you equal portions without you have to beg for more. And I still was able to pay $11 and some change :) Give the people in Springfield an added $25 raise!!!!! Also I want to added that I compared my $20 one from Wilmington to the one I paid $11 from Springfield and the weight of it was exactly the same which means Wilmington cheated me into paying more money than I needed to. Also the one from Springfield was wayyyyy better...
